GAME INFO

Dear Students,
We know you're all excited for the new term! For those of you who are new to our beautiful school, welcome back. To those whose first day this is, we all look forward to meeting you. There are countless of other institutions you could have chosen, so we will work hard to meet every expectation so that you'll know you chose correctly.
That goes both ways. We know that you'll also work very hard to uncover all of your potential, and to become model students. At Wiwaldi we accept the best and brightest, and now it's up to you to go even beyond that. However, we know that hard work can accumulate stress, so never be afraid to use any resource available in order to aid you.
Remember, this is your home now. Go Bears!
seasonality is a short term murder game set in a prestigious academy that goes from elementary to university level. All characters have to do is simply graduate. 🎓
Seasonality is loosely based on the party Mafia game, but as always, there will be some changes to the format! Even less surprisingly, every week at least one character will be murdered. The remaining characters will have to try to figure out what happened, as well as any other mystery that may be surrounding the school.
This game has hidden roles. Information on these roles will be given to those who are chosen for them, and they will have special rules. Players who receive roles must keep them an IC/OOC secret when they receive them. If you don't have a role, don't worry! We'll still keep you busy. :)
MONDAY-THURSDAY: A new mingle post will go up every Monday at 12PM EST / 9AM PST / 5PM GMT / 1AM JST / 5AM NZST. Characters can interact with each other and any changes in the environment here. On specified Wednesdays, mini-events will go up at the same time. Yay!
FRIDAY: Investigation time! Like
thotordie and
redactable, we will be having traditional investigations through time blocks. A post will go up at 6PM EST / 3PM PST / 11PM GMT / 7AM JST / 11AM NZST with a set of initial locations to explore, and then another set of locations will be revealed an hour later at 7PM EST. Characters in each time block will be given up to two hours to find all the clues they can in the locations. This will end at 9PM EST (or sooner), at which point the body announcement will go up, confirming the victim(s).
SATURDAY: Time for trial. Trials begin at 12PM EST / 9AM PST / 5PM GMT / 1AM JST / 5AM NZST. Trials last nine hours, and characters will have that time to try to figure out the murders and vote for a culprit. OOCly, players will submit their votes to a screened post.
Once the votes have been tallied, the NPCs will reveal who has been selected for execution.
Voting is mandatory, and failure to do so will result in your character being killed off. If you will not be available during a particular trial, please let your mods know beforehand (preferably at least a day in advance)! Please try not to miss several trials or multiple in a row.
SUNDAY: Execution time! Executions will go live at 1PM EST / 10AM PST / 6PM GMT / 2AM JST / 6AM NZST. These are not mandatory to be present for, unless you have been chosen as executioner, but they are open to the public to witness.
This cycle repeats until we hit an ending to the game.
In addition, for those of you who will receive roles, we will provide you with your schedule at the time of acceptance and role introduction.
What is the pacing of the game?
Our game will be running on a 1:1 schedule and functioning on EST because all your mods except one are EST losers. Please refer to the above timeline for when important posts will go up.
Do I have to be present for every trial?
If you have to miss a trial for whatever reason, please tell the mod team beforehand. We prefer a 24-48 hour notice, but we're also aware that life comes at you fast and an emergency might pop up at the last minute. In that case, please let us know as soon as possible. If you don't alert the mods and don't participate, your character will be killed off.
How long will the game last?
We're aiming for a minimum of six and a maximum of eight weeks!
Should a player need to leave the game prior to endgame, please speak with the mod team and we will discuss the next steps with you.
If I die early what happens next?
We will have a graveyard for characters to continue playing in and participating in! You can do open threads on the main graveyard post, or you may have private conversations with other dead characters. In addition, characters in the graveyard will be presented with opportunities the living side does not have access to.
Private conversations?
Private conversations! Sometimes your character (or a group of characters) will want to get together with people to spend time together or share information or whatever. This would become a private conversation that isn't shared with the game at large. Please check out the private conversations page for information on how to set up journal filters and more.
How active do I have to be?
We like to see that players are participating either via weekly mingles, private threads, or both in addition to participation in trials! The game functions best when all players are active and engaging, so please keep this in mind when apping in! We ask that your time be managed well.
Additionally if you have a role, we will ask for a little extra higher activity to be around for coordination purposes, etc.
How do I contact the mod team for any questions/concerns/murder plans?
Please make a group DM with Anna, Dana, Jan, and Francy! We prefer if you approach all four of us in regards to questions and general game things.
1.) Be kind. This is a game by friends and for friends, so we want to try to be as civil as possible so that everyone has a good time. Remember that disagreements that happen ICly should not translate OOCly. Keep that divide up, folks!
2.) Be active! While we don't expect you to be around 24/7 and always tagging, please try to be as around as possible.
3.) Because murder is what keeps this train running, please remember that your character can die at any moment, whether it's week one or week seven. Your character may also die outside of Thursday nights depending on what's happening! It's a mystery but be prepared for death!
4.) At this time, canon powers/abilities are nerfed! While your character may be the strongest most powerful person in their canon it will not mean much here. Oops.
5.) Finally, if at any time you have concerns or feel uncomfortable about something in-game please contact us! As this is a game of our friends, we hope that you guys will come talk to us immediately so that we can get things straightened out and help where we can. Please do not feel as though any concern is too small or insignificant. As mods, we're here to help make everyone feel welcome and have a good time.
