Like, if it succeeds in assimilating a bunch of us, it might treat that as a success and repeat the process with other people from other worlds in the future. But, he let us know that if we continued to sever the ties each week until the school year ended - about eight weeks total - it wouldn't be able to keep us held here any longer. We could all go home, and it would probably treat that as a failure.
