[chad takes the vouchers, before handing claude a sheet of papers. if he shows them to lucretia, they'll appear blank to her. he can't transcribe them, and if he recites it out loud, whoever's listening to him won't be able to transcribe it either.]
Claude is dropping the papers without a second thought to jump over to Chad's side, putting a hand at his back so that he can guide him to the bed if need be.
He's looking over at Lucretia as he does so, silently asking if this is supposed to happen. ]
[you think she knows, claude?? she's glancing over to him with an equally 'oh shit' sort of expression-- they've probably moved more or less at the same time as soon as that happens, but she'll let claude handle the physical support for now.]
[he shoves claude away. when he looks up, they'll see that his eyes are bright red, which is definitely not normal! he seems to be in pain, as a hand goes up to where there's a bandage on his head, as if he intends to dig his nails into it (hm, maybe there's a reason why that injury doesn't seem to be healing)—before he takes in a breath, his hand drops, and his eyes revert to their usual purple.
he still seems to be struggling with something, but less so than before. he looks furious, actually, though it's not necessarily directed towards either of them.]
I'm not going to lose to the likes of this—!
[it's muttered mostly to himself, before he turns his attention to claude and lucretia.]
... Based off past incidents, I don't have much time. If there's anything you want to say or ask while I'm in my right mind, do it now.
[he shakes his head. it doesn't seem like he can answer anything about the daycare.]
It's happened a few times. First on that Thursday, but I'm not sure what caused it.
[his eyes flash red.]
There's a certain level of awareness I can't reach while I'm in that state, no matter how much you might try to poke holes in our story, but... whatever has a hold of us, it's slipping. This won't last forever. I won't let it—I'll tear all of this down.
[it seems like he's talking more to himself by the end, as if a mantra to try and retain control.]
The vouchers might be—make sure Sally is getting enough—
[ He glances sharply at Lucretia, thinking immediately of the murders. But when he glances at Chad, it's pretty obvious that they're not getting anymore information. ]
week 3, wednesday

How's this fine day treating you, Chad?
no subject
Not too busy, hopefully.
no subject
[he remains standing.]
You wanted to buy the info, then?
no subject
[ Which he will hand over to Chad. And I will report to the page. ]
no subject
[which is fine with her.]
Just let me know if you come up short anywhere else.
[but other than that, she's just here, observing.]

Thanks.
[ Before glancing up to stare at Chad. ]

--you know, it would have been very convenient if literally anyone had mentioned that part.
no subject
It seems that they're meant to be read only by whoever purchases them.
no subject
[ Oh well, he'll just summarize it to Lucretia later. Not realizing that won't work either. ]]
no subject
[because she also has no reason to think this won't work, we are doing fine in this thread tonight.]
no subject
Do what you will with it.
[... and then something strange happens, as chad doubles over.]
Ugh...!

Just-- talk to us. What is it?

The daycare— can we get to it? Are the people sent there still here with us?
no subject
but she nods when he speaks, lets claude get his own question in, and then quickly adds:]
We're going to need to know how reliable any triggers for this are, and any specific times where you might need us to try to do it again.
[if he's not going to be able to ask, then maybe they'll at least know in advance.]

You all right?
no subject
Just take a moment, if you need to.
no subject
... I'm fine. Were we talking about something?
no subject
no subject
-sure, we'll go with that.
no subject
Somehow, I doubt that.

[chad puts up with so much.]
While we're here though, why don't you at least tell me what those say, Claude-- we might have other questions before we go back.

[ Glances a little awkwardly at Chad. ]
Nothing you wouldn't expect from a show.
