But the summary stated that Hiyori died, and so a trial was held according to school tradition, based off an incident in the far past. Kaoruko was confirmed to be his killer, so expulsion commenced. Otome was chosen as the other party involved.

That about summarizes it, yeah. Has anyone ever explained why it's school tradition for a bunch of random people to solve a murder and execute someone?

No. Then again, any incident that involved bloodshed isn't one that any school would want to be made public info. If it's been buried with time, I doubt it'd be easy to find details.

Why would a school library have that kind of info...? You'd have better luck with archives that don't belong to the school.

I wouldn't know. Ask someone who specializes in journalism, or something to that effect.

There's probably certain kinds of information that you can exchange vouchers for. I'd have to check, though.

If you wouldn't mind? [he perks up a little.] I get that it's a lot to ask but I have a lot of vouchers. So I want to make sure I'm using them for things that might be useful.

For what it's worth, though, I suspect this case would be a waste of your vouchers. People sometimes kill for ridiculous reasons, and the school probably just reacted dramatically. So don't blame me if it turns out that the past incident was just a student killing someone over relationship problems or something equally stupid.

I can't answer that in a broad sense. I can only suggest what I think would be a waste.
