That was my concern-- that it would only prolong it. Even if one of them were saved from a blow, I doubt that would make it stop. But what if they were protected at the right moment?

Kaoruko fell. Lila was sent flying. If it were cast on them just as that happened, what would your theory be then?

If they fell off the stage and onto the barrier, then my guess is that they would be stuck until the barrier disappeared and then resume falling.
If they're knocked off in another way, it might just keep them on the stage and force them to continue fighting.
