FALL COMMON ROOM - WEEK 2

The common room of the Fall Dorm has soft, dimmer lighting; plush carpet over wood; and several comfortable chairs and sectionals. A few big windows overlook the dormitory area of campus, but there is also a single, cozy bay window on one side.

A television and bluetooth surround-sound are here for Fall students who are more inclined to be tech savvy. In the cabinets under the entertainment stand are an assortment of board games, but the television does have a generic "free tv" app for shows and music.

Above the enormous center fireplace is a moody painting.

This week, there's something else.

specialty room.

Through a door on the first floor, there is an antigravity room. Stepping just a few feet through the doorway will lift everyone up into the air. The seating and most of the rest of the room remains somehow rightfully in place on the floor and will not move. Students, however, can grab pillows and blankets, cups or bowls, or other small items to bring into the air with them.

[On top of and around the common room table and a few chairs is an assortment of bins and boxes labeled FD XMAS SUPPLIES. Opening them up will reveal a bunch of different ornaments and decorations for...

...the 9' tall Christmas tree in a stand in the center of the room.

The tree is completely bare, but 100% real. The whole room smells like soft cedar. All of the decorations are color-coded for Fall Dorm (hilarious): burgundy, golden yellow, orange, dark green, and a little black. The lights are orange and green. And it seems all of the ornaments are related to Halloween, too.

On the table is a note which reads:

I thought this was kind of dumb when I was young. I guess I've changed my mind. I got the tree, but you guys will need to decorate. There's a step ladder in the corner.

Try not to knock it over.

After decorating the Christmas tree at least once in some way, characters will feel the intense urge to spend time with other people here and there throughout the week.]

[Occasionally, Luke can be found in the common room. It seems he's mostly checking on the tree rather than lazing about.

He can also be found going up or down stairs from his room on the third floor.]

common room, monday morningish

[good morning fall dorm! are you enjoying your monday? you might come down to the common room and find a stranger (?) sitting on a sectional seemingly looking around the getting a feel for the dorm. and eyeballing the christmas tree.

on the other hand, he's wearing a red tie so maybe he belongs here? hm. but as you enter the room, he will nod a greeting...and offer a slight grin.]

[He's coming downstairs, midyawn before he notices Taichi is here.

The musician did say something about him joining, so he doesn't seem that surprised.]

Joinin' us from now on?

[There's a gentle fist tap against Taichi's shoulder.]

[He has heard of Christmas trees and the concept of the thing, but also he looks at it with some confusion while Luke's checking it.

Anyway, something else he wanted to ask about.]

[Hello, Taichi. Ichinose does not look surprised to see him as she finishes descending to the common room, instead lifting her hands to wave at him... Except her hands are still in her pockets, so she's kind of flapping her coat around. Terrible.]

[taichi has not realized yamato informed the entirety of fall he was moving in, but he shrugs in response.]

Thought I'd see what was so great about it, stick around for a while. And you guys still have my favorite couch. [not true in the slightest, it is just a couch.]

[he catches it with one hand and immediately takes a bite. please, i'm begging you, stop spoiling him.]

Yeah. And predictably the minute I leave Spring takes the lead. [but what can you do. he says nothing about yamato coming back this early and instead grins.] Guess we'll have to fix that?

[he does not take the dorm war seriously, but it's sort of ironic.]

[He legitimately does not approach the spring dorms.]

Maybe they were pity points for dealing with you for so long. [ helpful, and he flops down next to taichi to eat his own sammich ] But sure. We can make up a-- what, thirty point lead difference?

I lost track of how many of you actually showed up that day. [he did not pay attention and also this is why y'all got away with stealing so much. you're welcome (?)]

Shut up. [he lightly kicks at yamato's ankle when he sits down but makes no move to push him away.] Thirty points isn't bad. We should have a new set of tasks this morning, so we just have to figure out which one could belong to Luke and make sure people do it.
