Similar to the rest of the architecture, the common room in the Winter Dorm is almost more reminiscent of a tea room or parlor that you would find in a manor. A chandelier hangs above, everything in the room glistening in the light that is both welcoming and just a tinge cold. Seating is available for a number of people to gather, adjusting each week to seemingly accommodate a little bit over the number of people assigned to the dorm. A piano doesn't sit too far, and sometimes when the room isn't too full, it's almost like a beautiful classical melody will begin to play itself to make up for the empty space.

However on the first floor, there's an oddity amidst the serene architecture. One of the rooms opens to a Gaming Lounge, complete with screens that stretch across the entirety of one wall length-wise. Incredible comfortable chairs and couches sit opposite the screen, comfortable enough to steal you away from the outside world for hours upon hours. A series of gaming systems are hooked up to the screens, and a small tower of handhelds sit on a bookcase nearby. Every game you can think of is downloaded and programmed onto each device, though every time you start one up it seems to immediately pull up an otome game or farming simulator. The lighting system changes between a rainbow of colors, and one wall is lined with snacks that are a little less decadent but still just as delicious. The room will adjust based on the needs of the game you play, a wall spinning out to roll out DDR dance pads, virtual reality goggles, or whatever you could need for the ultimate gaming experience.

No, it isn't incredibly reminiscent of Dude Perfect's Game Time Lounge. You're imagining it. (But really, click the link for a better idea of what the room looks like.)

Yeah. His advice was to play along if something like that happens, because it gets worse if you don't.

[ kon sets down a bowl of curry next to her on the left, but comes around on the right side and pulls out a slightly dampened towel as he drops to sit there. he'll help take care of people, the way they helped to take care of him last week.

he doesn't say anything, just presses their sides together and reaches to take one of her hands, same as he did the first curfew. ]

[she ignores the curry, but she will let him take her hand. her eyes don't leave the door.]

[ that's fine, he doesn't expect her to eat. not right away, if at all - but it's there anyways.

so he just sits there, cleaning her up. and when he finishes with the one hand, he takes it and holds it for a minute, instead of moving on right away. ]

[she just leans very heavily and very tiredly against him. he can have that hand, and she will hold it tightly.]

Something used my face to hurt him. [she says quietly.]

... mm. [ kon hates that, and squeezes her hand tight in return. ] So another mindfuck trip.

[ there's nothing he can say to reassure her. "it wasn't real, it wasn't you, he knows that." it might be logically true, but the damage is done, and he knows it. he still can't look at people directly without taking breaks. ]

Yeah. [she takes a deep breath.] He didn't think I was real at first.

[... but.] It's not about me. He's alive, for right now. And that's about all I can hope for. Luke couldn't promise me nobody would go after him while he's weak, so I just gotta... sit here. And wait.

[ after a while ichiro had come by to check on beau, picking up the bowl, and coming to sit on her other side.

and this is the first thing that gets him to react - his head whips up, moving from the sad, worried puppy look to surprise to - something close to horror. ]

[ leo sits nearby - not touching beau, but keeping his hands busy, looking anxious. he keeps his voice low, only for beau to hear, if she'll even answer. ]

No, but that kind of applies to all of us? Anyway, I wouldn't totally count us squishy folks out so easily. Magic or no magic, sometimes all it takes is a bit of quick thinking, and he's already got that part down pat.
