Good day. They say that idle hands are the devil's playthings, don't they? So if you'd be kind enough to entertain me, please gather at the "Bakery" at dusk.

No one is in the halls as the two of them creep to the "Bakery".

Before they knock, the door will open before their knuckles so much as touch against the surface of the door. The room is filled with the comforting and warm aroma of assorted baked goods, along with the occasional stray scent of something that doesn't belong - is that hot sauce? A table has been set off to the side, topped off with an elegant tablecloth and a vase full of fresh flowers that certainly aren't there during business hours. The table is set for teatime with a kettle full of perfectly steeped tea, dainty containers of sugar and milk, and a small tower of delectable finger sandwiches.

In addition, there appears to be a few items handwritten on fine stationary in curling calligraphy, though it appears a bit shaky in sections. For your use, there also appears to be a pen, a highlighter, and a small pad of sticky notes.

» Members of the Honor Society have the following responsibilities: conduct searches for killers, assist others in completing their Extra Credit Assignments, and encouraging the exchange of vouchers for goods and services on campus.

» Each week, the Honor Society must agree upon one person to conduct a search on. They will be able to know if this person has killed, if they possess an additional role, and receive a list of every person they have conversed with over the past week.

» Members of the Honor Society will be expected to report upon their progress of assisting others with Extra Credit. If Members of the Honor Society have successfully assisted others, they will be able to receive one voucher themselves as well as additional information gleaned by the Society Director.

» Of course, the greatest organizations are meant to grow and evolve. Some weeks, you will be able to select provide a list of three to four additional candidates of who you would like to invite to join the Honor Society. Viola will approve one person's membership, limitations and growth pending.

» Outside of the Honor Society, you may not express your membership to anyone. Each week, one person outside of the Honor Society may be made aware of its existence and its membership. You must all agree on this person before telling them. However should that number be broken, grave consequences will follow.

... I spoke with Yanagiya-san about it, and she couldn't tell me anything at all and implied if she did the consequences would be dire. She also implied she knew who was responsible for Lan Wangji, but couldn't tell me about that, either, or her reasoning, just told me to try and be observant.

She said she couldn't expect me to trust her and that she just wanted everyone home safely, and that if her answers were too vague and she had to face the consequences for it we could vote for her. If it's a gambit, I think it's insane, so...

I didn't tell her about either of you, and I don't plan to, but I'm choosing to trust her for now.

To be observant, was it...

Then I shall not reveal myself, either. I have mentioned this to Rita ere our meeting this eve, but Otome resides within my dorm. I confess I had not been paying her mind with a critical eye, but I shall henceforth do so while there.

[ nods ]

We're counting on you for that. Speaking of telling-- Taichi knows about me and Rita, but I didn't tell him about you. I didn't want to without your knowledge or consent.

Taichi? You two are close, then?

Yeah. We're from the same world and we've been friends for six years now, so Rita agreed to let him be our first choice for sharing our role.

I see—very well. I've little reason to object if you trust him, in that case.

I do. Thanks. [ and im not done updating whee ] Speaking of trust-- we need to be careful about these extra credit tasks. Some around here have gotten legitimately dangerous. Pushing someone off a roof was bad enough, but two others I've heard were "frame someone for murder" and "convince someone to vote for someone innocent". The latter was done already.

[ uh. ]

What? And we are expected to encourage such tasks?

Probably, but... I think there are ways around it if we play around with the wording. [ he looks like. so mad about it, but he had his entire crisis earlier so ] The problem is getting people to tell us about those so we can have it happen in a way that makes it safe. Like-- that murder thing. It doesn't say it has to be the murder of a person. Maybe you can frame them for murdering like... a toy, or something. I don't know.

[ never mind he is still frustrated ]

So we don't always have to go with how it may sound at first. The less questionable we can make these, the better.

Right. It requires us to make sure people know that's an option, but... if we're stuck playing along with this, so long as we can make it safe for everyone, that's our best bet.

I quite agree, and knowing how far these go makes it easier to plan for them. I thank you for the warning, Yamato; I may have been at a loss otherwise.

This is the kind of stupid thing that would work here, isn't it.

Maybe. [ he can't like. entirely deny the possibility ] Maybe she was the other person responsible, or one of them told her. I don't know. It's just a hunch of mine that someone from Summer didn't kill their own.

I don't think checking the same person twice in a row is worth it, either way.

So now what? We could investigate Byleth or Sakyou... or hope that Otome will be able to tell us sometime soon, and instead try to find one of these other roles?

... I don't know if we'd have much more luck trying to find a role than we would a killer, and I think it might be good to know one way or another for Sagihara. Your guesses were maybe Kon or Caleb for roles, right? I thought maybe Crow, as well.

Yeah, I still think those two are worth looking into.

He bought some info off of Viola, apparently. He's been sharing it with Caleb, so if we think one of them is suspicious...

Taichi also bought that information from Chad, so it's not a complete tell. [ he is just going to. pause. ] I'll explain what it is after we decide on our pick, since it'll probably derail the conversation a lot.

Coming back to this for a minute... how much did you tell her?

I kept it vague and basically said that it was only me, but... I did tell her we could check to see if people have killed.
