WINTER COMMON ROOM - WEEK 3

Similar to the rest of the architecture, the common room in the Winter Dorm is almost more reminiscent of a tea room or parlor that you would find in a manor. A chandelier hangs above, everything in the room glistening in the light that is both welcoming and just a tinge cold. Seating is available for a number of people to gather, adjusting each week to seemingly accommodate a little bit over the number of people assigned to the dorm. A piano doesn't sit too far, and sometimes when the room isn't too full, it's almost like a beautiful classical melody will begin to play itself to make up for the empty space.

Or... is that a showtune...?

This week, we're getting into the holiday spirit! So pop some bubbly, be a little sweet - it's that time of year.

However on the first floor, there's an oddity amidst the serene architecture. One of the rooms opens to a Gaming Lounge, complete with screens that stretch across the entirety of one wall length-wise. Incredible comfortable chairs and couches sit opposite the screen, comfortable enough to steal you away from the outside world for hours upon hours. A series of gaming systems are hooked up to the screens, and a small tower of handhelds sit on a bookcase nearby. Every game you can think of is downloaded and programmed onto each device, though every time you start one up it seems to immediately pull up an otome game or farming simulator. The lighting system changes between a rainbow of colors, and one wall is lined with snacks that are a little less decadent but still just as delicious. The room will adjust based on the needs of the game you play, a wall spinning out to roll out DDR dance pads, virtual reality goggles, or whatever you could need for the ultimate gaming experience.

No, it isn't incredibly reminiscent of Dude Perfect's Game Time Lounge. You're imagining it. (But really, click the link for a better idea of what the room looks like.)

[First off, the fireplace is on. Did you not notice the fireplace before? Right, there's a fireplace now. So that means it's always nice and toasty in Winter Dorm. And just in case you need a little bit of extra warmth, there's also a constant jug of egg nog and an ice bucket with a few bottles of high-end champagne in the Common Room. The egg nog is clearly marked as whether it's alcoholic or not, so try at your own risk.

In addition, there appear to be Lunar Tears, Poinsettias in all colors, and roses of all sorts decorating the dorm. No special effect this week! They're just here, and you're free to give them out.

On the tables in the Common Room, there's a few scraps of paper out and instructions on how to make paper snowflakes. The scissors can't be stolen, but you can do as you please with the paper and crafts. There's a note from Viola:

You know what would be cute? Writing something meaningful on a snowflake and giving it to someone. It's the time of year for sweet and sappy things, isn't it?

Finally, every member of Winter Dorm has a stocking on the fireplace! Kaoruko and Rupert's names are included, with white lilies already placed in their stocking. While you're welcome to fill each other's stockings - if you want to do so anonymously, just poke the mods in a DM - there seem to be a few favors already placed inside. They'll find the following.

- A pair of very fuzzy, warm socks
- A box of very delicious chocolates, it's a variety pack and they all look homemade
- A sentimental snowglobe with a group picture of Winter Dorm that was definitely taken last week
- A Santa hat or an otherwise Holiday/New Year's Related Accessory
- A small, sentimental item from back home. (It can't be a weapon or magical - if you're unsure, ask the mods.) ]

week 3, monday

[ good morning, winter dorm! your favorite mechanic has a nice wake up call for you - it’s breakfast in trays of eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit, and even some pancakes! enjoy. he will go and look for anyone who doesn’t come out on their own, but not, like, at 7am. he’s not a monster.

but once everyone’s gathered in the common room, he calls for everyone’s attention, and pulls a few folded pages from his tool belt. ]

So, you guys know how Sammy Tolkien got that script from Vi last week for a few vouchers? She did the same for me, only - I got a cast list. If it’s anything like Crow’s you guys won’t be able to read it, but just in case..

[ he’ll offer the papers to whoever wants to take a look. they are, in fact, blank. ]

It looks in line with the script. All the dorm heads are there, with pictures and - different names. The professors from the first week are here, the people who ran the extracurriculars are listed as "guest stars' - there are twelve of them total - blank spaces for all the students - that’d be us, probably - even the geese and squirrel were cast? But this is only draft numero uno. So the whole thing about us being in a later draft of that script is probably legit.

Vi also said that since it’s happened twice already, we might be able to pool vouchers for next week, just in case she gets something else for us. So we should talk about that, too.

...What're the names? For the dorm heads. I think we should probably start writing this stuff down, just to be safe - maybe keeping a log of it, or something.

beau is here, in the common room, and she is unrolling a poster to put on the wall. please appreciate how stupid this is. anyway, she tapes it to the wall, and then whistles.]

Hey, all of you, listen up. There's gonna be an anime night on Tuesday. All of you are invited. It's not gonna just be us, we're gonna try to get the whole campus to show up.

If you have a favorite, tell Luke, and he can probably get it. Actually, like - don't ask me. I don't know shit about anime. Anyway. Here you go.

Yeah, let's not do that. Considering Luke passed out when Lalli said something that he reacted badly to, I don't really want to risk that happening to her, since she only slipped in and out with me.

I'd wondered. I heard Chad passed out entirely when Caleb talked to him about something, so - I'm guessing all four of them have stumbled at some point.

Agreed. Let's just make sure we don't forgot those names no matter what, yeah? We gotta hold onto them for them until they can have 'em back.

Think it all definitely ties in to people being made to follow the script. I wonder if that means if those students who host our extracurriculars had another names, too...

She got a little faint and unfocused. I told her about what happened to us on the field trip, first, and we were talking about it.

She slipped out of Viola and into - [ gestures, fingers curling around his trinket, indicating the name ] - That's not correct. I'm not Viola. She's not exactly me. She said I was on the right track, and she basically confirmed that the dorm heads are fully overwritten for their roles. She was angry. Asked how long she'd be made a puppet.

Then she got faint and unsteady again, and slipped back into Viola. Didn't remember a thing she said.

I agree. I'm going to keep these papers, but yeah. We should all know, just in case.

And they did. But we haven't seen them since, so... [ he shrugs. ] Do you want to know those, too?

[ i would like to state for the record that ichiro had absolutely nothing to do with this ]

She's mad as hell about it. She had a dizzy spell again the other day, but Iris knew who I was... so I wonder if she's not somewhat aware of what's happening around her.
