WINTER COMMON ROOM - WEEK 3
common room.
Similar to the rest of the architecture, the common room in the Winter Dorm is almost more reminiscent of a tea room or parlor that you would find in a manor. A chandelier hangs above, everything in the room glistening in the light that is both welcoming and just a tinge cold. Seating is available for a number of people to gather, adjusting each week to seemingly accommodate a little bit over the number of people assigned to the dorm. A piano doesn't sit too far, and sometimes when the room isn't too full, it's almost like a beautiful classical melody will begin to play itself to make up for the empty space.
Or... is that a showtune...?
Who can say?
This week, we're getting into the holiday spirit! So pop some bubbly, be a little sweet - it's that time of year.

However on the first floor, there's an oddity amidst the serene architecture. One of the rooms opens to a Gaming Lounge, complete with screens that stretch across the entirety of one wall length-wise. Incredible comfortable chairs and couches sit opposite the screen, comfortable enough to steal you away from the outside world for hours upon hours. A series of gaming systems are hooked up to the screens, and a small tower of handhelds sit on a bookcase nearby. Every game you can think of is downloaded and programmed onto each device, though every time you start one up it seems to immediately pull up an otome game or farming simulator. The lighting system changes between a rainbow of colors, and one wall is lined with snacks that are a little less decadent but still just as delicious. The room will adjust based on the needs of the game you play, a wall spinning out to roll out DDR dance pads, virtual reality goggles, or whatever you could need for the ultimate gaming experience.
No, it isn't incredibly reminiscent of Dude Perfect's Game Time Lounge. You're imagining it. (But really, click the link for a better idea of what the room looks like.)

In addition, there appear to be Lunar Tears, Poinsettias in all colors, and roses of all sorts decorating the dorm. No special effect this week! They're just here, and you're free to give them out.
On the tables in the Common Room, there's a few scraps of paper out and instructions on how to make paper snowflakes. The scissors can't be stolen, but you can do as you please with the paper and crafts. There's a note from Viola:
You know what would be cute? Writing something meaningful on a snowflake and giving it to someone. It's the time of year for sweet and sappy things, isn't it?

Finally, every member of Winter Dorm has a stocking on the fireplace! Kaoruko and Rupert's names are included, with white lilies already placed in their stocking. While you're welcome to fill each other's stockings - if you want to do so anonymously, just poke the mods in a DM - there seem to be a few favors already placed inside. They'll find the following.
- A pair of very fuzzy, warm socks
- A box of very delicious chocolates, it's a variety pack and they all look homemade
- A sentimental snowglobe with a group picture of Winter Dorm that was definitely taken last week
- A Santa hat or an otherwise Holiday/New Year's Related Accessory
- A small, sentimental item from back home. (It can't be a weapon or magical - if you're unsure, ask the mods.) ]

So, you guys know how Sammy Tolkien got that script from Vi last week for a few vouchers? She did the same for me, only - I got a cast list. If it’s anything like Crow’s you guys won’t be able to read it, but just in case..
[ he’ll offer the papers to whoever wants to take a look. they are, in fact, blank. ]
It looks in line with the script. All the dorm heads are there, with pictures and - different names. The professors from the first week are here, the people who ran the extracurriculars are listed as "guest stars' - there are twelve of them total - blank spaces for all the students - that’d be us, probably - even the geese and squirrel were cast? But this is only draft numero uno. So the whole thing about us being in a later draft of that script is probably legit.
Vi also said that since it’s happened twice already, we might be able to pool vouchers for next week, just in case she gets something else for us. So we should talk about that, too.

First of all, check your lockers frequently if you don't already, since apparently someone's decided to start circulating information through that.
Second, I'm gonna remind everybody now that Thursdays have been bad every week so far. Try to check in with people if you haven't already, especially if you don't see them throughout the day. With that, we can see who's accounted for and who we should be looking out for when it comes to a possible field trip coming back. If we need to buff up the first aid kit, now's the time to do it. I've already made sure the burn cream is in there, but we're almost out now after five people have had to use it.
Third, if you haven't used your coupon yet - you should probably think about what you might use it for, if you find yourself out in the campus come midnight and you're being targeted. [ there's a pause, and he's already pretty quick to the point, serious, but... this is a little more grim to say: ] To follow up on that, keep your phone on you if we find ourselves in lockdown for curfew tonight - and consider telling someone your passcode before then, or changing it to fingerprint or facial recognition if you're up past midnight. Try to take notes, if you can, or pictures. Even something blurry or typed in a hurry could help.
Fourth, if lockdown does happen, and you think you might go investigate when lockdown ends in the morning - grab some gloves from the costume emporium before curfew tonight. Take pictures of things you see. Try to find a way to measure or catalog things. I think Winter dorm is pretty good about making sure we don't miss anything, but this is just a reminder because we as a trial collective didn't go back to check some things when it came to Sieghart's murder.

Finally, vouchers and coupons - I've got my memory power back. It's good for use once a week, so if we need to pull a memory out of somebody to see something, we can do it. I can try to use it on someone that's died, or if we narrow down suspects... that'll definitely work. I asked Viola about my ability to rewrite, even with the intention to reverse the overwrites that have been done on people here, but she said it would be extremely expensive and she would be hesitant to give it on principle. I referenced Catra's coupon use, but she said that a voucher ability would be stronger and more expensive than a coupon by virtue of what it is - so keep that in mind, if you were thinking about asking for a coupon ability or item as a voucher exchange.
I also asked her about... basically writing a will, to give your vouchers to someone in the event that you've died. She said it had to be discussed beforehand, but that by putting it in writing afterwards, it could be followed up on and completed. Because we've learned that there's a possibility voucher exchanges are helping the dorm heads, it's something I suggest we all consider, as morbid as that is, to keep them circulating. [ OOCly you'll just let the mods know that you've discussed it with one another - no retroactive or backdated will arrangements for vouchers! ]

well, it's curfew now! here's ichiro. he's sitting on one of the couches, probably very close to beau and kainé, and he's not wearing a shirt, so winter dorm can now see the extent of his injuries! it's bad, chief. thankfully having gotten a heal, most of his burns have settled up to second degree or lower, and his ribs are less broken so he's not wheezing as hard.
of the most interest and most immediately obvious is that there's a massive lichtenberg figure (its a drawing so its not gory) now burnt into his right arm, though it is far darker than pictured above, and travels from his palm, which is open and clearly burnt the worst, all the way up to his shoulder and collarbone. large chunks of his back are a mass of yellowing, red and purple bruise, and there are a few cut wounds that have at least stopped bleeding and now just look angry and in need of disnfecting. he's got tons of light red radiant burns, and his ankle on his right leg is sort of a weird bluish color

Crow's item was unfortunately very effective! Her injuries were not fully healed, but none of them look raw or recent anymore (her burns, her frostbite, her bruises, her cuts...). Her arm is simply sore instead of broken. She is probably bandaged places so nothing is too glaring.
