In the common room, the walls have been painted with photo-like pictures of forests and lakes, and spread across the ceiling is a depiction of the night sky. One wall is lined with bookcases, the books ranging from fiction to non-fiction as well used course textbooks. More bookcases have been used to section off one corner for a study area, with a desk and chair provided.

Elsewhere, there are a few couches (one looks as though it doesn't quite belong) and chairs, most seated around a coffee table and with throw blankets tossed over them if you need the extra warmth. On the table is a bowl of healthy and semi-healthy snacks, regularly stocked. (Nearby is a garbage can.)

This week, it looks like things are getting into the holiday spirit.

Past an entrance in the common room, a mini coffeehouse has been set up, with express machines for those who just want their coffee now and slightly more advanced equipment for aficionados. It offers a variety of strength levels and flavors to accommodate tastes all across the spectrum, along with a teapot and packets of caffeinated and non-caffeinated tea for those who prefer a different drink. There's a sink if you want to use your own mug, but otherwise, disposable cups are provided for you to use.

Pasted on the wall by the coffee machines is a detailed but clear handwritten guide on how to use said machines, complete with illustrations. There are also cute little doodles of Spring Dorm residents using the machines and drinking coffee, though they look as though they were done by someone else.

[WELL he's just received a paper from their poor tired dorm head Hugo, and after squinting at it for a few moments, he'll turn to address everyone.]

It appears to be a fax message from the principal. I'll do my best to interpret... [IT'S A FUCKIN MESS OF JUMBLED TEXT HELP. But anyway, reading aloud kind of slowly:]

"Regarding daycare and administration building. Lost my phone, sorry for any missed messages. Expelled and injured students signed into daycare and they are helping get keys to administration building. Good work so far. Need to go into top floor to fix their transcripts so they can return to campus. Please keep other students occupied and happy as... emissaries? [He'll fuckin spell out:] Ermnisdsarrfies... Of Wiwaldi campus. Outsider visitors still not permitted in these areas. Construction may be done by end of school year".

I can spell out any of the words as well, if you'd like.

...given what we know this place can do, I don't know how much I like the sound of "keeping us occupied and happy".

I should hope that it's a more innocuous meaning than that...

The rest is reassuring, at least. If it's going to be possible to get them back...

Wait, you said they're helping to get the keys. "Find the bear's keys". Do you think that could have been from-?

Yeah, I think the message might have been for them.... Though I do wonder if there's anything that can be done form our end...

It said hello too, I think. We should pay close attention to that next week.

I do wonder if there are like... codes, in the older ones... but I can't remember what they said...

[There are definitely going to be a whole lot of people here who'll want to hear this. But!! He blinks, brow furrowing for a second before it dawns on him.]

...From the marquee? Last week, it also referred to "lights, camera, action", didn't it? And then we received information about the script.

[Thank god he has some modern knowledge now.]

Those we've lost aren't out of our reach just yet.

The way that it's worded makes it sound like that's something we might have to leave in their hands... But it couldn't hurt to keep an eye open for opportunities.

...It's too soon to say with certainty one way or another. It's very possible that this is all just part of the so-called "script", after all... But it's something to keep in mind.

I can't accept something like that without some damn good evidence, but... whatever, screw it, I'll file it away for now.

The more information we have, false or true, the clearer our picture of this place will become.

So there really is a chance we can get the people that died back? We just need to help "fix their transcripts" and they can leave the daycare place?

That seems to be the implication, yes. Though I don't know what we can do from our end, based on this letter alone... Perhaps we'll be able to get more information about it next week.
