SUMMER COMMON ROOM - WEEK 3

The common room is as bright and open as the rest of the dorm. Beanbag chairs and even more hammocks are situated around for any of your resting needs, because who needs couches? There are a few blankets on the couch just for comfort, but the temperature is never cold enough to need them because of chill. There's also an absurd amount of pillows.

The walls are decorated with paintings that are either modern art pieces or done by kindergarteners. There are also photographs tacked onto the walls as well, of seemingly random things like a vase of flowers, a mailbox, a bird on a tree branch. The photos are less about grand views and feels more like someone testing out a camera.

On a table is a welcome basket.

In the common room, there's a door that leads to what can only be described as an Occult Room for some strange reason. Unlike the rest of the dorm, this room is dimly lit and is crowded with items—a skeleton that may or may not be real, taxidermy animals, really creepy looking dolls, an actual coffin, etc. On a table to the side is a Ouija board, a few tarot decks, and crystal ball.

[ There's a large, brightly decorated Christmas tree tucked in a corner of the room. All of the decorations on it seem to be handmade, and some of the ornaments have small, painted faces of the various members of the dorm. In the background, various Christmas songs play, going from the classics to hits by Ariana Grande. However, the radio it's playing on is easily locatable and anyone can switch the music off as long as they don't break the radio.

Under the tree are wrapped boxes! One for each member of Summer Dorm, and inside is a small, sentimental gift from home, the only caveat being that it can't be something magical or something usable in combat. Yay gifts!

As always, there's tea, but the treats that accompany it is a much larger selection this time! There's different types of cakes, cookies, donuts, and more. A handwritten note sits next to it all:

[ Yo 'sup. At some point during the day, Alphinaud will turn down the music and try to grab the attention of all who is currently present. ]

Good day, my friends—I hope the day is treating you well! I had hoped to briefly speak with you all about our standing in the dorm wars, and what we could do to benefit our dormitory. I confess even I had been skeptical when it came to playing along, but I have since then learned it should only aid us further were we to put all our efforts into it.

And so, I come to ask how we all fare on that front. I imagine we are all already working on the weekly tasks, yes? How oft do we speak with Sally, and what have we learned from her? If you have not been already, I implore you to spend your vouchers as oft as you are able, and be certain to do so with her.

Above all else, I also recommend completing your extra credit as many times as you are able. Should you ever need someone to help you with this, you are always more than welcome to come to me, no matter what it may be. 'Tis of great import that we get these done.

[ Mabel suddenly comes flying down from the rafters, or maybe a hammock that's positioned very high up in the room, idk, but she's jumping down at Alphinaud and landing with her legs on his shoulders in a piggyback position. She locks her legs around his neck for leverage and immediately begins wrestling his head with a pair of scissors in hand.

She is yelling like a banshee. ]

[ Mabel probably does not realize his injuries are still healing. It's fine. This is fine.

But that's the reason why, with a yelp, Alphinaud just seems to seize up during this assault, and—well, he's tiny. It is not going to take much for him to topple forward onto the floor and for her to pin him down that way. ]

[duranduel]

[Mandricardo is here! He's actually....in full armor? And he has a very fashionable hat. It's fine.]

Um. I...have a question. About extra credit...we can't tell anyone what that is, right...?

[arcsplainist]

[ I am bending time and space to before the Great Mabel Assault above. Anyway.

But uh, hey, full armor? He hasn't seen Mandricardo in that before. And the hat... uh... does Alphinaud dare mention it... ]

Not openly. You are fine to ask for assistance in private, however, unless the objective requires deceit of some sort.

[ that hat sure seems to be getting around ]

[Well, there's no helmet, its just his canon outfit. Complete with hat!]

I see. I see...all this extra credit stuff is so troublesome...

...The hat? Um. I don't know.

[ A very... nice hat. Hm. ]

Aye, quite so, yet unfortunately it must be done. [ Alphinaud isn't fond of it either... ] Need you any assistance with yours?

[duranduel]

...No. Its not like I need help. I think I just need to make it happen and like. Run away.

I... assume it is one you find humiliating to complete, then.

Anyways, uh. What you said is right. We need to help Sally out. She's...gonna need all the help she can get.

I shall not press you too hard, then, but simply know you may come to me if there is aught you require.

[ Anyway, he nods! ]

That said, you do have the right of it. I come to you all today with the hope we can all come together with a common goal, that we might yet uncover more of our circumstances.

I actually do need help with my extra credit if you all don't mind. I haven't been able to organize it due to how hectic last week was, but I'll get it going tomorrow.

[ Anyway, to Alphinaud's points. ]

I talk to Sally usually once a week, though I can consider talking to her more... It's just. Been hard.

This reminds me: is everyone caught up on the happenings on campus? Such as information that has been spreading around, anything learned about the past cases and the like.

[duranduel]

...I don't want to subject ya to it.

[And there's a pause.]

Also, um...Alphinaud. Have you ever seen...Sally actin' strangely?

—Strangely? How so?

[He looks away.]

Like...she's getting a headache all of a sudden...or she gets confused...

Seek me out when it is best for you, Nier, and full glad I would be to oblige.

The spreading of information is another thing among us I wish to make common. Now more than ever, 'tis imperative that none be left in the dark regarding matters around us.

[ oh. hm. ]

'Twould seem I must look into this myself... I have yet to speak with her today.

... Then from what I've been told by others, there is a script you can purchase for three vouchers or so, but it paints this place as something similar to the shows that play in the SUB. It falls in line to what Kaoruko has said about "playing along." I'm not sure if purchasing this ourselves would be helpful.

[ Reality TV. ]

It may be good for one of us to talk to Sally and ask if there's anything new we could receive in terms of information this week. I wouldn't want us all bombarding her with the same ask... It has been tough on her these past weeks. I know it has been tough on all of us. If vouchers are needed, I can donate some.

In trial, we've learned that we are allowed one truth... Thing. Alongside Beauregard's truth... punch? [ what the fuck ] And that powers to equal a coupon's power would be approximately eight vouchers. As a recommendation, I encourage everyone to bring their vouchers to trial, whether or not you want to use them, and make a log of your own purchases as a reference in case you are ever questioned in trial. It would be best if you have someone to vouch for you, too.

For the past murder cases, Kaoruko and Rupert said theirs were planned. Rupert was also a... [ uhm... What did people call it in trial. ] Repeat killer. Neither would talk about their reason.

As a recap from the first week two groups disappeared and went somewhere, it seems like these trips give us some information. They were about some of the dorm heads and a map. We should have copies of them in here. Not sure how helpful these are yet.

So he was aware of what he was doing this whole time?

Yes, that was what I was told. He had planned both Lan Wangji's and Bradley's murder, so most likely the person he killed with also had planned it. We won't know until they're caught.

[ Even if Mabel is here, or people in this dorm liked Rupert, Nier believes in closure for those that liked Bradley. He believes that the dead should be honored at the very least. ]

The theory that involuntary killing I think might still be a thing... It's hard to say right now, but for Rupert and Kaoruko it had been their choice. Whatever they're killing for, bribed or threatened, it was worth it.

[arcsplainist]

[ Well, it's gotta be said regardless of the company. Alphinaud listens, then exhales tiredly. ]

Those who oft spoke with him believe he had to have been controlled because he hadn't seemed the type to kill.
