FALL COMMON ROOM - WEEK 4

The common room of the Fall Dorm has soft, dimmer lighting; plush carpet over wood; and several comfortable chairs and sectionals. A few big windows overlook the dormitory area of campus, but there is also a single, cozy bay window on one side.

A television and bluetooth surround-sound are here for Fall students who are more inclined to be tech savvy. In the cabinets under the entertainment stand are an assortment of board games, but the television does have a generic "free tv" app for shows and music.

Above the enormous center fireplace is a moody painting.

This week, there's something else.

specialty room.

Through a door on the first floor, there is an antigravity room. Stepping just a few feet through the doorway will lift everyone up into the air. The seating and most of the rest of the room remains somehow rightfully in place on the floor and will not move. Students, however, can grab pillows and blankets, cups or bowls, or other small items to bring into the air with them.

It was just...automatic. My body just felt like it was moving on its own. —N-not like I was being controlled, but...you know what I mean.

Yeah, I do. [ ... he shakes his head a little ] I'm not mad you did it. You just worried the shit out of me.

[ a little nod, even if there's a prick of pain in his neck. ]

I couldn't...just let it happen. I didn't want it to be a repeat of helplessly watching my mom die from the other side of a chasm. This time, I had the opportunity to at least try to do something...anything. So when I saw him go flying, that moment replayed in my head, and I just...

[ ...sorry for this surge of sadness, of desperation. ]

[ hope should get most of the couch so he can rest his BONES, but yamato can still perch on the arm of it to squeeze his shoulder lightly ]

... Ichiro's alright. [ serious and confident ] He was more pissed than anything. And no one got too hurt from whatever was going on with Denji. It's okay.

[ he's silent for a few seconds. ]

[ WINTER'S PROBLEM NOW ]

Compared to the alternative? Yeah. We'll find out what happened with that guy later.

. . . [ flatly: ] Unless we find out he flunked out tomorrow.

[ kids could you lighten up a little ]

... Yeah. I guess. For right now, tonight, we've done what we could.
