WINTER COMMON ROOM - WEEK 4

Similar to the rest of the architecture, the common room in the Winter Dorm is almost more reminiscent of a tea room or parlor that you would find in a manor. A chandelier hangs above, everything in the room glistening in the light that is both welcoming and just a tinge cold. Seating is available for a number of people to gather, adjusting each week to seemingly accommodate a little bit over the number of people assigned to the dorm. A piano doesn't sit too far, and sometimes when the room isn't too full, it's almost like a beautiful classical melody will begin to play itself to make up for the empty space.

Or... is that a showtune...?

This week, something else has been provided!

However on the first floor, there's an oddity amidst the serene architecture. One of the rooms opens to a Gaming Lounge, complete with screens that stretch across the entirety of one wall length-wise. Incredible comfortable chairs and couches sit opposite the screen, comfortable enough to steal you away from the outside world for hours upon hours. A series of gaming systems are hooked up to the screens, and a small tower of handhelds sit on a bookcase nearby. Every game you can think of is downloaded and programmed onto each device, though every time you start one up it seems to immediately pull up an otome game or farming simulator. The lighting system changes between a rainbow of colors, and one wall is lined with snacks that are a little less decadent but still just as delicious. The room will adjust based on the needs of the game you play, a wall spinning out to roll out DDR dance pads, virtual reality goggles, or whatever you could need for the ultimate gaming experience.

No, it isn't incredibly reminiscent of Dude Perfect's Game Time Lounge. You're imagining it. (But really, click the link for a better idea of what the room looks like.)

he's quiet for a minute there, emotions just radiating deeply unhappily. lila was the same age as saburo, after all, and he hates, hates the idea of that. ichiro's mouth pulls into a tight line. ] ....yeah. Yeah. They were.

So maybe, Rupert and Lila-chan. Maybe. And then... Byleth and Rupert, after. And then whoever replaced Rupert... someone from fall. But, Lila-chan was in Fall too, right?

[ what does this even mean. ]

She was from Summer. And she was... really upset that Manwol got voted for instead. Which, you know. If she were responsible, why would someone like her want anyone else to take the fall? She fought supervillains back home; it's not like she was a bad person.

[ he is sad just thinking about it :( ]

Yeah.

[ hrhrhrhrhgh. anger rises in his emotions again, and ichiro crosses his arms. he doesn't even want to think about the implications of the expulsion that week, either. ]

I hate this place.

Don't we all.

[ there's a flash of misery before leo squashes it down. back to work. ]

So if we're going with the theory that there's at least one person picked for this in each dorm, and we think that whoever Byleth was working with to kill Crow was Fall's, then... [ glances. ] ...that kind of rules Caleb out, right? They probably wouldn't allow a switch if they have to have someone in every dorm. Or... they would just get replaced as if they'd died, too. Hard to say.

But assuming that wasn't the case, it would just leave us with Yamato, Lux, and Taichi, and the first two were always in Fall. They've only lost two people so far, too, so they'd probably have had that role from the start - because Rupes and By probably wouldn't kill another person with the same role, right? And Caiman didn't seem to be involved. ​So that would leave us with... Yamato and Lux.

[ which leaves displeasure bubbling from leo's direction. hard to say why, though. i'm sorry for this wall of text also, he's just thinking out loud. ]

But I guess that's working off of a lot of assumptions. Do we even know for sure it's only one person from each dorm

Maybe. . . someone from Summer died, Lila, so another Summer replaced her. Byleth.

[So then there would be a fall and spring. . . and a winter who replaced Rupert.]

[ yeah. he catches onto that, too, and glances around the room - there's a quiet moment of pause, before he takes a deep breath, unease rippling across his emotions. a flicker of anger, too, though it seems more at the situation than anything else. ]

.... yeah. For sure. [ nothing to do about it, though. they'd handled it, when rupert was the one. they'll handle it again, if they have to. ] Which means someone probably replaced Rupert, too.

[ .... ]

Even if we find out who it is, I don't know if there's a way to just stop it, unless we get at the bigger problem. It comes back to the why that we can't get at. And that goes for everybody- Byleth, and whoever came after. Here, and whoever it was off of that list, too. And whoever it is in Spring.

Like... like I said. I know all this stuff, now, and I just don't know what to do with knowing. [ or how to stop it. he's not sure if knowing is better, or worse, in any case. luxanna, yamato, taichi - all his good friends. ]
