In the common room, the walls have been painted with photo-like pictures of forests and lakes, and spread across the ceiling is a depiction of the night sky. One wall is lined with bookcases, the books ranging from fiction to non-fiction as well used course textbooks. More bookcases have been used to section off one corner for a study area, with a desk and chair provided.

Elsewhere, there are a few couches (one looks as though it doesn't quite belong) and chairs, most seated around a coffee table and with throw blankets tossed over them if you need the extra warmth. On the table is a bowl of healthy and semi-healthy snacks, regularly stocked. (Nearby is a garbage can.)

This week, there's something.

Past an entrance in the common room, a mini coffeehouse has been set up, with express machines for those who just want their coffee now and slightly more advanced equipment for aficionados. It offers a variety of strength levels and flavors to accommodate tastes all across the spectrum, along with a teapot and packets of caffeinated and non-caffeinated tea for those who prefer a different drink. There's a sink if you want to use your own mug, but otherwise, disposable cups are provided for you to use.

Pasted on the wall by the coffee machines is a detailed but clear handwritten guide on how to use said machines, complete with illustrations. There are also cute little doodles of Spring Dorm residents using the machines and drinking coffee, though they look as though they were done by someone else.

[hello springles it's toplevel time again! lucretia's sent a message out to ask them all to meet in the common room, and she is here with a paper that, again, nobody else can see anything on. she's not voice to texting to say this and her voice still sounds like shit.]

We have our information for the week, and it's-- well, this is a little bit of a doozy.

[there's a measure of discomfort, here, but it's not too strong.]

This isn't an exact transcription, but first part of it-- it's the script, but cancelled. There's writing on it, asking if... we want to stay. To belong here. Have adventures here with our friends. Be here with each other forever. And then it just repeats: 'you will'.

[REASSURING. she flips it over.]

But the other side... it just says 'finish the story'.

...We also might want to discuss what was received from our trips the other day. Maya, Tsuyukusa-- I'm pretty sure they go together. Ours is mirrored from yours, so that it looks like an open circle.

[ HM WELL OKAY that's a lot. malik wants to object to staying here forever, but maybe we'll come back to that. ]

What kind of story is this supposed to be?

There are the scenarios on the pages Rita shared from last week, and those mostly involved-- something going wrong in more or less every one of them. Which seems to track, but I do think I would prefer to stay away from the type of story they seemed to intend, there.

But what type is it? Certainly not a fairy tale, with a happy ending... But does that mean that we're going to get a bad one? That's what I mean by type... Usually the ending will match the theme of the story.

[Oh he doesn't like that? Doesn't like that!! He's still kind of trying to stay a bit separate from everyone else so he doesn't drown the room in rancid vibes, but he's absolutely frowning at that.]

...Finish the story... [Finish it not like that he hopes??? That's a terrible story. He sighs, expression pinched.] Well. That's certainly no ending I'd like to see. As for the circle, I have no idea what it could mean. It looks a bit like a moon?

You remember that strange note we received a while back, don't you? I talked to Ichiro this weekend and apparently, where he's from, a goose egg is another way to just say 'zero', or that it's nothing. Because of the shape.

Which-- still doesn't make it make much more sense, but if it wasn't just some form of prank? We could find something else out that seems to fit this, and I would very much like to think the message was not literal.

Mm... So you think it might be connected, then? It does seem like the notes people leave in lockers are largely meant to be helpful. Why phrase it in such a cryptic way, though...

That might be all they knew at the time, or-- they couldn't be more direct.

Perhaps so. It's something to keep in mind, anyway. Zero...

It might be, but if nothing else connects it, then it's likely worth letting go. We also don't know how accurate it was, but I prefer not to overlook anything entirely.

Maybe if we put it over top of some other document, it'll point to something important? Like a spotlight.

It's something we could try, certainly. We have enough documents for it, and we're only gaining more.

If there's a story, there's probably someone -- or something -- writing it....

Did we interrupt it? Are we ruining it? Or are we a part of it?

It could be both? Someone might want us here for entertainment, but they didn't foresee that'd we mess it up?
