WINTER COMMON ROOM - WEEK 5

Similar to the rest of the architecture, the common room in the Winter Dorm is almost more reminiscent of a tea room or parlor that you would find in a manor. A chandelier hangs above, everything in the room glistening in the light that is both welcoming and just a tinge cold. Seating is available for a number of people to gather, adjusting each week to seemingly accommodate a little bit over the number of people assigned to the dorm. A piano doesn't sit too far, and sometimes when the room isn't too full, it's almost like a beautiful classical melody will begin to play itself to make up for the empty space.

Or... is that a showtune...?

This week, something else has been provided!

However on the first floor, there's an oddity amidst the serene architecture. One of the rooms opens to a Gaming Lounge, complete with screens that stretch across the entirety of one wall length-wise. Incredible comfortable chairs and couches sit opposite the screen, comfortable enough to steal you away from the outside world for hours upon hours. A series of gaming systems are hooked up to the screens, and a small tower of handhelds sit on a bookcase nearby. Every game you can think of is downloaded and programmed onto each device, though every time you start one up it seems to immediately pull up an otome game or farming simulator. The lighting system changes between a rainbow of colors, and one wall is lined with snacks that are a little less decadent but still just as delicious. The room will adjust based on the needs of the game you play, a wall spinning out to roll out DDR dance pads, virtual reality goggles, or whatever you could need for the ultimate gaming experience.

No, it isn't incredibly reminiscent of Dude Perfect's Game Time Lounge. You're imagining it. (But really, click the link for a better idea of what the room looks like.)

[ actually we're coming back to this, with kon shifting to move his right arm - giving it and the hand there to beau - before he reaches up once iris is done fussing at ichiro (for the moment) to grab his good hand with his left. guess what, we're fucking holding hands. you're invited now.

because amidst all the plot talk, and everything that's happened this past week, now that things are winding down...

fuck. they're exhausted, and battered, but alive for now. and the relief is palpable that caleb, dimitri, and ichiro are among those alive - especially with the shape that ichiro came back in. ]

[she holds it easily enough, linking their fingers. she's still doing the slow, steady breathing.

if ichiro will let her, she'll take his, too, eyes closed.]

[ yeah. his other hand is pretty much useless at the moment so they can both just hold onto his functioning left hand? that's fine.

there's a moment of quiet, and then, he huffs a little. ]

... that was one of those tasks, right? [ haha .... ]

[ together, these boys make a whole functional set of arms. amazing. but kon keeps breathing steady for beau, save for -




a quick pfff at that. something lighter, for the moment, amidst the shitheap of thursday night?? ] Yeah, it was. I guess bisexuality strikes again would be my response to that.

[a quiet little laugh.]

Well. Glad you're getting something out of it. [since she's absolutely not bisexual but listen, y'all can take it.]

[ he does smile, a little bit more at that too. a little more normal, after an exhausting everything. ]

I already got one. Mine was the... [ looks at his injuries and winces a little. ] "What are you gonna do, stab me"...

[ a small bump to beau, squeezing the fingies he's got ahold of. ] Boys're gross, anyways. You're not missing out.

[ but he does look at ichiro's injuries and wince-laughs, aha oh no. ]

Yeah, I'll take my hot bi summer. [ as if he does not. have a bitemark on his jawline. this is where i get to inform the dorm of this. ]

[refate]

[ imagine if it was emotionshare week, this room would be a mess. it was bad enough last week.

but he just settles in there with her, keeping an eye on the three of their field trip returnees. still doesn't say anything, but leans his weight back into hers. ]

[at some point after she's done fussing and she thinks nobody is paying attention she just sinks down against him and hides her face against his shoulder.

inhale. exhale. inhale. exhale.]

[refate]

[ he sits there, crisscross applesauce, arms arranged so that he has them folded in his lap. the orbeez are gone, everyone is here and accounted for and being taken care of.

kon takes deeper breaths when he feels her face against his shoulder, chest expanding and back rising and falling more noticeably. inhale. exhale. steady, two, three, four. ]

[disreguarded]

[she takes that, and breathes. if she holds onto his kimono-shirt while she does it, well. she doesn't need to talk about it.]

[refate]

[ no one needs to talk about it. nothing is happening here. they're just breathing and vibing.

he does turn his head to kiss the top of hers, briefly, but he doesn't pull away afterwards. just sitting like that. ]
