WINTER COMMON ROOM - WEEK 5

common room.
Similar to the rest of the architecture, the common room in the Winter Dorm is almost more reminiscent of a tea room or parlor that you would find in a manor. A chandelier hangs above, everything in the room glistening in the light that is both welcoming and just a tinge cold. Seating is available for a number of people to gather, adjusting each week to seemingly accommodate a little bit over the number of people assigned to the dorm. A piano doesn't sit too far, and sometimes when the room isn't too full, it's almost like a beautiful classical melody will begin to play itself to make up for the empty space.
Or... is that a showtune...?
Who can say?
This week, something else has been provided!
specialty room.
However on the first floor, there's an oddity amidst the serene architecture. One of the rooms opens to a Gaming Lounge, complete with screens that stretch across the entirety of one wall length-wise. Incredible comfortable chairs and couches sit opposite the screen, comfortable enough to steal you away from the outside world for hours upon hours. A series of gaming systems are hooked up to the screens, and a small tower of handhelds sit on a bookcase nearby. Every game you can think of is downloaded and programmed onto each device, though every time you start one up it seems to immediately pull up an otome game or farming simulator. The lighting system changes between a rainbow of colors, and one wall is lined with snacks that are a little less decadent but still just as delicious. The room will adjust based on the needs of the game you play, a wall spinning out to roll out DDR dance pads, virtual reality goggles, or whatever you could need for the ultimate gaming experience.
No, it isn't incredibly reminiscent of Dude Perfect's Game Time Lounge. You're imagining it. (But really, click the link for a better idea of what the room looks like.)
Please use this as an open post for members of Winter Dorm. You may post top-levels whenever you'd like and go wild. A new post will go up at the start of each week.

[ hector... he pauses, and shakes his head. ] I think Mandricardo brought him back. Their pet bat - Hector. We brought Miku back, too. Gave them an actual burial.
[ francy killed the dog ]

... Huh. [she rubs her face.] Okay. I'm gonna be honest, I'm - too tired to figure this out right now, but maybe we can try to piece things together tomorrow.

[ ... like last time, a little, maybe. he can't place his finger on what's wrong, but something's wrong. ]
's probably the blood loss.

... he accepts the hug, though. after a moment, his good hand comes up, and he gently squeezes it in the back of her shirt. ]
....'m okay. It's gonna be okay. [ quiet, reassuring. that's all he has, just like usual - his strength. ]

[she mutters, holding him a little more tightly.]
I'm not the one that just got fucked up by a wolf, I don't want to hear it. I've got you.

there's a beat and then ]
... I won against the wolf, so... who was the real winner. [ HE OUT ALPHA'D IT anyway this is a joke. ]

You, thankfully. That's dope.

he would've been a teen wolf ]
...yeah. It was pretty cool. [ a little 'heh' laugh. it's the little things. ] ...can't wait to tell my bros.

Whispery. Echoey. [ that one's not a word but he's tired and so am i but we both want plot while he's aware of who the fuck ichiro is ]

[ so! there's that. maybe the same one? who knows. ]
And it kept telling us to do stuff. Kind of an asshole, too. It got pissed at us when we didn't listen, took it out on us. I think.
no subject
[ he's banking on it being the same one. he rests his cheek against the edge of the stolen bed, looking at him. ]
There wasn't a voice, on ours, but there was something compelling us on that first day. It got more insistent the longer that we ignored it.

[ ... ] Like, once we got Miku, we showed up in a park, and it told us to take her to play. So, we did - went to a playground, and passed all these like... invisible people. Like, they were there. We could feel them, and hear them, but we couldn't see them.
When we got to the park, a kid like - maybe Leo's age? Showed up. We couldn't see his face, kept getting forced to look away. He told us we were on his turf. [ and like. this, at the time, was kind of funny? because like, are you really going to challenge Ichiro Yamada Hypnosis Michael to a turf war. ] Said we had to give him Miku for payment.
The voice told us to get rid of him. I tried to get him to chill and back up, and he pulled a gun on us. Shot at me - just clipped me - but I tackled him and got the gun from him, and while that was happening, all those invisible people started gathering way too close around us, trying to get pics - you know how a fight goes.
Mabel managed to clock him with a grappling hook, and I got away. Tanaka-san started yelling at us, said we were ruining it. Said it wasn't fun anymore.
[ ... ]
The crowd started curbstomping the kid, and I couldn't - Tanaka-san told us to leave and go somewhere else, but I couldn't just let that happen. [ even though the kid pulled a gun on him and literally shot at him not seconds before.
that is just the kind of person he is. can't stand injustice, can't stand the idea of the world breaking others down, no matter who they are, or how they act. ] So I ran back in and tried to fight them off of him. And the crowd turned on me real quick. Chanting for blood and killing, and shit.

especially with the experience that he went through. because this place, it's - ]
Said it wasn't fun anymore. [ oh he fuckin HATES THAT. ichiro is obviously feeling a kind of way after his field trip, so kon'll just let him keep talking, instead of fussing over him actively. ] I'd say this thing is escalating, but it's always been bad - it does sound like it's something that manifested more, though?
Like we weren't punished, we were just compelled. And overwrites and rewrites happened on pretty much every field trip between then and now. But this time - this time compulsion had a voice, and decided to punish you for not doing what it wanted. It's getting tired of us fighting back and not going with what it wants.

[ fucking tanaka. he doesn't seem to mind talking about the trip at all, or - well, maybe it's helping, to be able to give out details. something to focus on, something useful. ]
A lot of it felt like - ridiculous plot shit, like here. Someone accused our dog of murder.
