WINTER COMMON ROOM - WEEK 5

Similar to the rest of the architecture, the common room in the Winter Dorm is almost more reminiscent of a tea room or parlor that you would find in a manor. A chandelier hangs above, everything in the room glistening in the light that is both welcoming and just a tinge cold. Seating is available for a number of people to gather, adjusting each week to seemingly accommodate a little bit over the number of people assigned to the dorm. A piano doesn't sit too far, and sometimes when the room isn't too full, it's almost like a beautiful classical melody will begin to play itself to make up for the empty space.

Or... is that a showtune...?

This week, something else has been provided!

However on the first floor, there's an oddity amidst the serene architecture. One of the rooms opens to a Gaming Lounge, complete with screens that stretch across the entirety of one wall length-wise. Incredible comfortable chairs and couches sit opposite the screen, comfortable enough to steal you away from the outside world for hours upon hours. A series of gaming systems are hooked up to the screens, and a small tower of handhelds sit on a bookcase nearby. Every game you can think of is downloaded and programmed onto each device, though every time you start one up it seems to immediately pull up an otome game or farming simulator. The lighting system changes between a rainbow of colors, and one wall is lined with snacks that are a little less decadent but still just as delicious. The room will adjust based on the needs of the game you play, a wall spinning out to roll out DDR dance pads, virtual reality goggles, or whatever you could need for the ultimate gaming experience.

No, it isn't incredibly reminiscent of Dude Perfect's Game Time Lounge. You're imagining it. (But really, click the link for a better idea of what the room looks like.)

[there's a dark brown furred lioness sprawled out on a couch for some reason. seems friendly enough, though! just chewing and clawing at a pillow. sorry iris.]

she will make a plate of food for the lioness and make sure there's water out]

if the lioness sees iris anywhere, iris gets a big cat version of winding around her legs and headbutting her.]

she's kneeling on the ground pretty much immediately, opening her arms for big big hugs with the lioness. hugs and affectionate little kisses.]

ichiro is also here. he just kind of looks at this giant lion, figures out what happened, and then goes and drops down onto the floor next to the couch, mindless of whatever injuries he's got kicking around. ]

Jesus. I'd think I was hallucinating if I didn't know any better. [ what a tiring day ]

[like, the SECOND ichiro sits down, the lion puts a paw on him and pulls him close to lick at his hair. it's simba and nala getting groomed hours, here.]

[ ok no here's your actual tag. ichiro doesn't seem all that bothered by being pulled over, mostly because he has already been manhandled by a gorilla this week? but the lick does get him to startle, and he makes a face. ]

Aw - Beau, jeez, they're called cowlicks, not lion licks!

[the lion seems like it might be laughing. or it would, if lions could laugh and had more than three points of intelligence. it licks him a few more times, tail thwapping against the sofa pillows, and then growls low. it's not a threatening growl, just a huffy sort of noise.]

and then looks really tired ]

a paw comes up and sits on his face. silence.]

[ muffled from underneath lion toe beans ]

Oh, shuddup.

[ this has like zero heat to it at all. ]

[huffy sound. the paw comes down, and the lion just hops into his lap and makes itself comfortable. time to stay here for a while.]

[ it's a little bit of a beat, but kon comes to join this once he's around, standing at the end of the couch her head's at and letting her decide if she wants to knock him over or drag him down to the couch or the floor.

you can do whatever you want forever. ]

[makes a loud, grumbly grouchy sound before batting at him. she pulls him down with a very gentle paw. c'mere. snuggles.]

[ yep, that's fine. kon lets her pull, and he just drops to sit where she puts him, bringing his legs up and wrapping his arm around her head. ]

[the nice thing about this is that as a lion, she doesn't have any emotions! other than like, hungry. so she's content enough to just climb into his lap and gently groom him, settled firmly. this is her's.]

[ god, this is what she deserves. just a break from having to feel any big emotions for a while. they'll have to tackle that, later, but he just hugs her and lets her groom him. his hair's long as shit still, but he doesn't really seem to mind other than a muffled: ] Gross, Beau.

[a low rumble-growl, because lions can't purr, unfortunately. maybe this one can, magic doesn't have any rules. either way, the grooming lasts for a bit before the lion huffs out a sigh and rests her head against his, nuzzling.]

[ yeah, sorry the purr cutoff for big cats are the cheetah and the cougar. but the rumble-growls and whatever chuffing and huffing and miscellaneous furry noises come across as they're supposed to, and he just rakes his fingers through her fur behind her ears. ]

[ohhhh, scritchies!! a big yawn, and a lazy stretch as she flops in his lap. clearly she feels better this way.]

[denji, who does not go to expulsions, is equal parts confused and excited by this development?? but it seems friendly so he, like, sits on the floor and waves at the lionness]

Ya maybe want some real grub that's not a pillow?

[denji!!! the lioness makes a huffy, growly sound and rolls off the couch to go headbutt his legs. yes. feed her.]

[he pokes at her with his foot, then stands up and gives her a ruffling pat of her very own]

Alright, let's see what we can discover in the fridge!

[she seems to enjoy that! she's also gonna bite his pantsleg and drag him off to the kitchen.]

[he will, until stopped (probably by kon) feed her various leftovers and meats from the fridge, splitting them in half when it's something particularly tasty so he can have some and sitting on the ground with her
