FALL COMMON ROOM - WEEK 5

The common room of the Fall Dorm has soft, dimmer lighting; plush carpet over wood; and several comfortable chairs and sectionals. A few big windows overlook the dormitory area of campus, but there is also a single, cozy bay window on one side.

A television and bluetooth surround-sound are here for Fall students who are more inclined to be tech savvy. In the cabinets under the entertainment stand are an assortment of board games, but the television does have a generic "free tv" app for shows and music.

Above the enormous center fireplace is a moody painting.

This week, there's something else.

specialty room.

Through a door on the first floor, there is an antigravity room. Stepping just a few feet through the doorway will lift everyone up into the air. The seating and most of the rest of the room remains somehow rightfully in place on the floor and will not move. Students, however, can grab pillows and blankets, cups or bowls, or other small items to bring into the air with them.

They need a face first. I think-- between that and Riku, I'm pretty sure it's going to be the Dorm Heads.

[he's no longer a puppy but he kind of looks like he's ready to start barking incessantly.]

Some of us were speculating that much on Thursday. Especially since the story already had a hold on them. So...so what, we might actually have to take them down ourselves?

[wow. wonder why he's not thrilled with that idea!]

[ghoststrums]

It's what it wants us to do. That doesn't mean it's what we're going to.

I said might. Not that we're absolutely going to. Obviously we're going to come up with a better plan to try and use all of our options the best we can.

[ghoststrums]

... Yeah. I know, I just.

[ is he a little freaked out by dealing with luke!riku? maybe. maybe a Little. ]

I don't like this.

[goalsides]

Like I do? [fucccck. but he takes a breath to level out again.]

What exactly did Riku say? What happened?

[ghoststrums]

... It didn't last long. I didn't realize right away-- I thought he was being a bit weird, but Riku's...

[ sometimes weird. he was a bleacher raccoon yesterday. ]

He asked if I was showing him a creative writing project when I shared the memo I bought, and that's when I tried to snap him out of it. I thought it was a joke at first, but he couldn't remember anything that we'd talked about that would explain why school would have murder. He passed out when I mentioned Sora. When he woke up, he said he remembered up to execution and then he was missing time. He thinks I was the first person to visit him.

[goalsides]

...but he's back to being himself right now? We should keep an eye on him if it's possible they're going to slip back into the story's hold or whatever. Does he remember the execution itself?

[ghoststrums]

Yeah, he remembers expulsion. And he's... fine for now. [ allegedly. ] I must have been the first to visit him after it.

[goalsides]

...you think executing Tsuyukusa has something to do with it? Since he was compelled in the first place.

[ghoststrums]

Like it leaked out of him? Maybe. We've never killed a compelled person before.

[goalsides]

Yeah. We don't know if it ever left him after Thursday either, especially since he was still convinced through the whole trial.

[ghoststrums]

... I don't know. I didn't talk to him after. But when the results were announced, he seemed to realize...

[goalsides]

Maybe it let him go for a little while. Rita talked to him last night. He told her about it.

[ghoststrums]

Yeah, she said she was going to. [ he shrugs a shoulder ] I don't know. Whatever the reason, it's probable it's going to happen or has with the rest of the Dorm Heads.

[goalsides]

I'll check in with a couple of people, see what they've heard. If it's happening to all four of them, that's probably better for us than it only happening to Riku.

[ghoststrums]

Yeah. Hopefully the others will have noticed if they went to buy their information, too.

[goalsides]

I'll try to contact Spring...and probably Nier for Summer.

[lifeless]

Is there any way we can prevent it?

[this truly sounds bad fam]

What if we put our vouchers together for a protective charm?

[ghoststrums]

... I don't know that there's any kind of charm that can protect against that, but we're not losing anything by trying.

[ sure! let's throw spaghetti at the wall!!! MAYBE ONE WILL STICK ]

[lifeless]

[LOOK,,, yeah yamato's right

Manwol looks pensive for a moment, then]

...I asked Riku for a charm to help silence a cursed object. [the way manwol is saying this to yamato and his fear of ghosts] It cost ten vouchers and it's not effective twenty four seven, but it works.

[ghoststrums]

[ opens his mouth like to ask why she'd ask for that. closes it. refuses this knowledge and moves on; ]

Do you think it'd work for that?

[lifeless]

I'm not sure. It's harder when we don't know what that voice is exactly. ...Maybe we can ask for something that will protect their memories instead?

[MORE SPHAGETTI]

[ghoststrums]

It's worth a shot. [ he'll repeat it! ] At this point, if there's an idea you've got, it's at least worth asking Riku if he thinks it could be worth buying, too.

[lifeless]

I'll try that then.

[she looks a little dissatisfied with her OWN SUGGESTION but you know what at this point... she'll do it]
