FALL COMMON ROOM - WEEK 5

The common room of the Fall Dorm has soft, dimmer lighting; plush carpet over wood; and several comfortable chairs and sectionals. A few big windows overlook the dormitory area of campus, but there is also a single, cozy bay window on one side.

A television and bluetooth surround-sound are here for Fall students who are more inclined to be tech savvy. In the cabinets under the entertainment stand are an assortment of board games, but the television does have a generic "free tv" app for shows and music.

Above the enormous center fireplace is a moody painting.

This week, there's something else.

specialty room.

Through a door on the first floor, there is an antigravity room. Stepping just a few feet through the doorway will lift everyone up into the air. The seating and most of the rest of the room remains somehow rightfully in place on the floor and will not move. Students, however, can grab pillows and blankets, cups or bowls, or other small items to bring into the air with them.

[ hey, what's that in the corner of the common room? that wasn't there before! is it...a gigantic rolled up pile of blankets? and is that...a pig, sitting nearby?

occasionally, the blanket burrito pile will shift, ever so slightly.

huh! weird addition to the dorm, right? ]

[hi mabel manwol's approaching. she's dressed in a horrendous dress and is wearing christmas tree sunglasses that i refuse to link here again,

she's also carrying a bunch of bags that clearly smell like they're carrying food.]

I don't know what your pig eats, so I brought just about everything.

[mabel it's time to EAT]

[ the lump shifts a little and then, a muffled voice: ]

That's okay. He'll eat anything.

The squirrels will too, probably.

[the squirrels... guess it's lunch time for kissa]

What about you? I brought sandwiches, chicken, bread that's not from the bakery... Also chocolate cake and donuts from the cafeteria. I didn't have any room for vegetables, so I left those behind.

I'm not hungry.

[Manwol will sit next to her in her scratchy dress, and then open one of the bags. time to eat some french fries]

You're going to have to eat sometime, Mabel. Better to do it now, or you'll have to go out and get food for yourself.

[ ohhhhh fuck those french fries smell incredible though

she squirms in her blankets a little, trying to resist the temptation before curling in deeper on herself ]

Uh-uh! I bet I could learn to do photo--photothin--photosynthesis! Like Tsuki! And then I'd never have to come out and eat!

He's a tree spirit. ...But I suppose you could exchange your vouchers for that ability, but it's definitely going to be expensive. Do you have any left?

[there are french fries, garlic parmesan french fries, cajun style..... Manwol pops open each bag after the other as she talks.....]

Not really...I got a few more yesterday, but I spent everything I had last week...

[ a squirrel worms its way out of the blanket nest and darts for some of those garlic parm fries. ]

[Manwol immediately hoists the bag into the air, NO FRIES FOR SQUIRRELS]

Mabel -- if you don't eat right now, then this squirrel you brought over for some reason is going to end up eating everything, and then Kissa is going to eat the squirrel in front of all of us.

[ wow weird! however, this makes futaba's life a lot easier so she's just quietly patting the lump. ]

We can get ice cream later.

...I don't wanna go outside.

We can have it here! Just steal the whole store and have our own ice cream party.

It'll make you feel better, at least a little. Trust me, I ate soo much ice cream this weekend.

....okay, I guess. But only if there's also all the crazy toppings!

Of course!!! That's where all the healing is!

[ ...well. she can't help but quirk the tiniest smile at that. ]

We'll make the best sundae with the craziest toppings and it'll boost our healing so high we'll end up in overdrive!

Ichinose slows down as she descends the stairs, staring at this burrito.]

... Mabel-chan, is that you?

[ The burrito shifts a little and then there's a sad whining noise. there's no confirmation or denial either way, but it certainly does sound like Mabel, at the least. ]

[Child... She finishes descending the stairs, heading to the couch.]

Don't tell me... You left Summer?
