WINTER COMMON ROOM - WEEK 6

Similar to the rest of the architecture, the common room in the Winter Dorm is almost more reminiscent of a tea room or parlor that you would find in a manor. A chandelier hangs above, everything in the room glistening in the light that is both welcoming and just a tinge cold. Seating is available for a number of people to gather, adjusting each week to seemingly accommodate a little bit over the number of people assigned to the dorm. A piano doesn't sit too far, and sometimes when the room isn't too full, it's almost like a beautiful classical melody will begin to play itself to make up for the empty space.

Or... is that a showtune...?

This week, something else has been provided!

On Suite One's Door, a sign has been placed on the front. there's four options, however, and they're color coded - green with a 👍 thumbs up, yellow with a 👊 fist (for knock first, fools), and red with a 🚫 no entry sign. the fourth option is just black for now, probably to indicate that it's not in use.

However on the first floor, there's an oddity amidst the serene architecture. One of the rooms opens to a Gaming Lounge, complete with screens that stretch across the entirety of one wall length-wise. Incredible comfortable chairs and couches sit opposite the screen, comfortable enough to steal you away from the outside world for hours upon hours. A series of gaming systems are hooked up to the screens, and a small tower of handhelds sit on a bookcase nearby. Every game you can think of is downloaded and programmed onto each device, though every time you start one up it seems to immediately pull up an otome game or farming simulator. The lighting system changes between a rainbow of colors, and one wall is lined with snacks that are a little less decadent but still just as delicious. The room will adjust based on the needs of the game you play, a wall spinning out to roll out DDR dance pads, virtual reality goggles, or whatever you could need for the ultimate gaming experience.

No, it isn't incredibly reminiscent of Dude Perfect's Game Time Lounge. You're imagining it. (But really, click the link for a better idea of what the room looks like.)

[ wow it's been quiet in the dorm this week? everybody has been doing stuff out in the mingles.

speaking of doing stuff out in the mingles! kon is here! there's more injuries underneath his clothes, but the moment that he was cleared to bathe he was gone and showering the smell of rot off of him. so he's mostly fine, now, if kind of obviously hollow about life rn. ]

We got another memo. [ he pulls his phone out and puts it down on the table for everybody to see the one image. ] If you want to see the actual thing, Futaba has it - but just. Be gentle with her about it.

They're shows and movies, including specific episodes where listed. Luke 24 might be the final chapter of the Christian Bible, but I'll look into it later when I can go to the library.

Chapter 29 of Dragonball Z - "Piccolo's Last Stand." Yu Yu Hakusho's chapter 17 is "The Golden Awakening."

... They're both about death and bringing people back to life. Piccolo sacrifices himself to save Gohan, which kills Kami in the process, but brings Gohan back. The Golden Awakening is when Urameshi finds out he could be brought back to life if he was kissed, and Keiko-chan successfully brings him back to life.

[ he nods, tilting his head to look at kon... worried... ]

[ this is field trip... 2! where kon can't comfortably lean back against things, but at least he's a little better this go around because he actually got heals. so he just gestures vaguely with his personal phone in his right hand while he's slumped. ]

The Adventure of the Empty House is a story by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, one of the Sherlock Holmes stories. I don't know it that well, though, so we'll have to get into it later. The Pirates movie is the one where they bring Jack Sparrow back from the dead, if I remember right. I haven't watched it in a while.

Family Guy is American trash TV, so I don't know what episode that's referring to.

That means the dead are closer to coming back?

[ he looks at her for a long moment, and then down at his phone. ]

...Kainé. [ a little nod. ] ...I dunno. It says "re: sequel" at the top, too. Isn't that what came up at seance meeting, too...?

[ ... ] Both Gohan and Urameshi are the heroes.

[alright, that's enough of this fucking memloss shit

her thoughts are going a mile a minute and it's all various cursing and anger and scribbles, but she's silent, sitting down next to him. she doesn't touch him yet, expression sharp and clear, but it's obvious she doesn't give two shits about the information that they brought back just yet.]

[ there's a few tired scribbles back at beau, but it's mostly just relieved that she's with them right now, instead of where they can't reach her. he's obviously sort of holding himself together at the moment and being busy just to be busy.

but he does, eventually, lean against her. ]

[the second he leans against her she wraps her arms around him and holds him. judging by the way she's trembling, she's been dying to do this. it's all anger.

[None of this means the least little bit to him, and Kon is vaguely familiar, but he still looks kind of worried. Looks bad, buddy!]

... Maybe you should just rest? We aren't going to crack this one tonight. It'll be alright.

[ looks bad, buddy! this is me remembering we were going to pc this week, alli, wtf happened to that.

anyways kon just smiles tiredly. ]

Afraid I won't be getting much sleep tonight until they knock us out for lockdown.

[work started and sucked all my brain juice out]

Don't need to sleep to rest. Just take it easy.

[ Kainé is actually trying not to think anything at all, in order not to infringe or cause discomfort to Kon. Luxanna revealed enough during the return that she doesn't want to approach him.

And she understands nothing on the memo.

But people saying to rest are valid. She'll let her thoughts support that. ]

albeit a bit hesitantly, before he reaches into the pocket of the sweater he put on to swaddle himself in. he's pulling something out in one hand, and gestures with the other. ]
