SPRUMMER COMMON ROOM - WEEK 6

common rooms.

The Summer common room is as bright and open as the rest of the dorm. Beanbag chairs and even more hammocks are situated around for any of your resting needs, because who needs couches? There are a few blankets on the couch just for comfort, but the temperature is never cold enough to need them because of chill. There's also an absurd amount of pillows.

The walls are decorated with paintings that are either modern art pieces or done by kindergarteners. There are also photographs tacked onto the walls as well, of seemingly random things like a vase of flowers, a mailbox, a bird on a tree branch. The photos are less about grand views and feels more like someone testing out a camera.

In the Spring common room, the walls have been painted with photo-like pictures of forests and lakes, and spread across the ceiling is a depiction of the night sky. One wall is lined with bookcases, the books ranging from fiction to non-fiction as well used course textbooks. More bookcases have been used to section off one corner for a study area, with a desk and chair provided.

Elsewhere, there are a few couches (one looks as though it doesn't quite belong) and chairs, most seated around a coffee table and with throw blankets tossed over them if you need the extra warmth. On the table is a bowl of healthy and semi-healthy snacks, regularly stocked. (Nearby is a garbage can.)

specialty room.

The specialty room is an underground tunnel. The tunnel connects the Spring Dorm to the Summer Dorm. It's neatly paved, and there is enough room for everyone to walk through it comfortably. You can vibe in here.

Please use this as an open post for members of Summer Dorm and Spring Dorm. You may post top-levels whenever you'd like and go wild. The tunnel has a door at either end, and they can only be opened and closed by members of the respective dorm on the other end (aka if Spring Dorm has their door locked, Summers cannot enter Spring Dorm, etc.) They can still hang out in the tunnel though. The doors are locked automatically during curfew and cannot be opened. Also, the actual specialty rooms are still locked to dorms so don't share those.

This one is pretty nice. Very earthy. Right?

Quite so! 'Tis the perfect atmosphere to get lost in a good book, I say. Perhaps they would not mind if I do...

I doubt it, Hugo's a big fan of books and I've snoozed while reading a couple myself.

I never did ask what your profession is, by the way.

Oh? ... Well, if you are curious, I am called a Scion, part of a society of peoples that work toward the protection and betterment of the realm.

Like... an order of knights?

In a sense, however, we are not loyal to any one ruling body, and betwixt us all carry a wide variety of skillsets to aid us. I, for one, would hardly call myself a knight.

Then... how exactly do you have the authority?

Technically, we do not, but we do hold close alliances with the leaders of Eorzea's city-states. They call upon us to assist them, and we have the means to do so; thus, when it comes to authority, we only have as much as they grant us.

That's quite impressive. I don't know many governments that would allow some outside militants solve their problems.
