No one is in the halls as Claude creeps to the Library. As there were no further directions, they will have to walk around in confusion for a while before they find Sally in a secluded corner near the back. In front of her are two teas, and she'll push one towards you when she spots you.

On the table next to the cups, there are a few sheets of paper. On the top one, in purple gel pen ink, there seems to be something written.

» You will have special power over the rest of the student body. This will allow you to create rules and obligations that the others will have to follow or face consequences.

» You may choose a rule or obligation that all of the student body will be subject to. A rule will be added to the student handbook, and if broken, the student will be given a punishment. An obligation is an effect that the students will be compelled to do. You can only choose one of the options each week.

» You may choose what day these things are applied. However, for rules, it cannot be added any later than Wednesday, or else it will roll over to the following week.

» You may also choose to give two students their own specific rule or obligation. You can give them either the same one or different ones, but you must choose between the two types.

[ it was. ]

... but seriously, I don't know what I would have done without you.

[shaft]

[ It's still thought share week, so Annie will get a mental image of that day at the picnic when she'd been playing with his hair, his dunce cap folded on his chest.

It had been nice. ]

You too. You probably kept me sane. After every weekend, we'd end up here again and it felt... safe.

[departea]

[ ... that really was a nice morning, even though the end of the day ended up hectic with the field trip returns.

which, honestly, just seems very apt for what life here has been like. ]

... then, I'd consider this a job well done.

[shaft]

[ Safe... while causing terror for others.

He's silent for a moment, mulling something over, because this is comfortable and relaxing, and he feels both awkward and juvenile when he finally says, ] I do like you too, by the way.

[departea]

[ it's funny how she didn't actually expect that.

he did kiss her, so she assumed there might be something? that, or she was willing to take a pity kiss, apparently. but claude actually admitting to it still takes annie by surprise and she has to wait a few seconds to respond. ]

You know you didn't have to say it back.

[shaft]

[ IT WASN'T A PITY KISS ANNIE PLEASE

Anyway, Claude sounds oddly tentative when he speaks, clearly out of his depth. ]

I know. I planned to keep it to myself, but I don't know why you'd assumed that I would reject you. I think you deserve honesty, and much more.

[departea]

Oh, that's very brave of you. One of the hardest things to do is be honest about feelings.

[ she sounds very genuine about this. ]

I don't think I'm very good at hiding when I like someone, but it didn't really seem... too appropriate, to get into it here. But it also didn't seem right to not tell you before it's over.

[shaft]

... Yeah, I kind of guessed.

[ He laughs a little, but it's warm! He likes that! ]

But I thought the same. I don't know if it would ever be any more than a confession given. [ He grimaces. ] Some... character flaws I have, combined with everything else.

[ ... ]

But it feels kind of nice.

[departea]

Oh, emotionally unavailable men isn't too unusual of a concept.

[ she has had much worse relationships.

but she'll just get more comfortable against him. ]

It's fine. I didn't really expect anything. Seems a bit silly to try dating someone when you're not entirely sure if you'll still be around after? But I'd just like to be around you.

[shaft]

[ Hate that Annie likes Claude because her standards start at the centre of the earth. ]

I'd like that too. [ He'll give her a lil squeeze. ] And you'll be around. We've beaten enough odds already.

[departea]

Hm, yeah, but... after all of this, I'm not sure if I'll see you guys again after it all.

It's a little sad to think about.

[shaft]

I think it's likely that we won't. Ideally we'd have access to that train whenever we want but... I assume it'll vanish once it takes us to our destination.

Being here was challenging but, yeah. Saying goodbye is going to be difficult.

[departea]

[ she is pretty terrible with goodbyes, actually! this sounds awful!

I don't want to... but. it really doesn't matter what they want. ]

What are you going to do after?

[shaft]

[ He echoes those thoughts, as unexpected as it is. He's always been a temporary existence, ready to uplift his life at a moment's notice and become someone else, somewhere else.

This is the first time he's ever had people he didn't want to leave behind. ]

I don't know. Perhaps return to Fódlan, perhaps elsewhere... I told Manwol we could see together. [ ... ] We're, uh, together. But I told her about you too.

[ He hates that he has to add this fine print again, should've just put together a memo. ]

[departea]

Oh. Congrats.

[ annie has avoided manwol ever since she was publicly rejected by her. it's too embarrassing. nothing can save it.

there's a pause. ]

How long have you been dating?

[shaft]

[ (fraude voice) would you consider a polyamorous relationship? ]

Maybe... a couple of hours ago? [ ... ] Does that bother you? It's okay if it does.

[departea]

It's... not that surprising?

[ well, it's surprising in the sense that he agreed to date someone, considering how much he didn't even really want to admit just having feelings in general. ]

The romcoms were right about the fake dating trope...

[shaft]

Trope...?

[ Unfortunately, that is correct. They really wouldn't have dated if not for that. ]

[departea]

Oh, it's just a thing in movies. Don't worry about it.

[ it really works... but, she seems more amused than anything. ]

You're cute together though. No wonder you had a lot of good things to say about her during the most embarrassing two days of my life.

[shaft]

I told her a nice things about you too.

[ He says this dryly. ]

Though she was mostly in disbelief that your affections came on so suddenly.

[departea]

Oh, that's not that impossible. People have fallen in love more quickly than that.

[ she nudges him ]

I'm just glad that you're happy.

[shaft]

[ Really...

Anyway, he looks embarrassed at the nudge. ]

Yeah. It's not something I expected. [ ... ] I know it's hard to believe, but I'm not that experienced with relationships.

[departea]
