The common room of the Fall Dorm has soft, dimmer lighting; plush carpet over wood; and several comfortable chairs and sectionals. A few big windows overlook the dormitory area of campus, but there is also a single, cozy bay window on one side.

A television and bluetooth surround-sound are here for Fall students who are more inclined to be tech savvy. In the cabinets under the entertainment stand are an assortment of board games, but the television does have a generic "free tv" app for shows and music.

Above the enormous center fireplace is a moody painting.

On one of the tables is a welcome basket.

Through a door on the first floor, there is an antigravity room. Stepping just a few feet through the doorway will lift everyone up into the air. The seating and most of the rest of the room remains somehow rightfully in place on the floor and will not move. Students, however, can grab pillows and blankets, cups or bowls, or other small items to bring into the air with them.

Scouting works. He's so cute... All he has to do is look at someone with those big eyes and they'll take him right into their dorms.

. . . He, uhm. When we aren't here, I can change his form into other animals, communicate with him telepathically, see through his eyes, and summon him back to me. So he often goes ahead to get a look at someplace first, before we go in. And then I can bring him right back if there's any trouble.

If I figure out a way to get powers back, then I'm definitely telling the both of you first.

Spying on our competition. [in a very 'of course' voice.] Or figuring out where the principal is, I guess.

Ah. Ja, he'd be good at that. The principal part. The spying on other dorms is easy enough without him.

Are you saying that you've already tried or because you've done that sort of thing before?

I have friends in Spring and Winter, so it's not such a big draw. I've seen the inside of Spring already. They have books.

[This is so blunt and rude that he finds it a little funny. Covering his mouth to hide his laugh.]

No, don't worry. I cheated a bit, I came here with them.

[lifeless]

...I can't tell if you're really lucky, or that you and your friends are extremely unfortunate.

[she thinks about it longer, then claps her hands.]

I've decided to go with lucky. You already have friends, so the hardest part is over.
