FALL COMMON ROOM - WEEK 0

The common room of the Fall Dorm has soft, dimmer lighting; plush carpet over wood; and several comfortable chairs and sectionals. A few big windows overlook the dormitory area of campus, but there is also a single, cozy bay window on one side.

A television and bluetooth surround-sound are here for Fall students who are more inclined to be tech savvy. In the cabinets under the entertainment stand are an assortment of board games, but the television does have a generic "free tv" app for shows and music.

Above the enormous center fireplace is a moody painting.

On one of the tables is a welcome basket.

specialty room.

Through a door on the first floor, there is an antigravity room. Stepping just a few feet through the doorway will lift everyone up into the air. The seating and most of the rest of the room remains somehow rightfully in place on the floor and will not move. Students, however, can grab pillows and blankets, cups or bowls, or other small items to bring into the air with them.

No. I was outside the walls, and then... Here. I've never even heard of a magic that can do this.

I have. But I don't think any of us went through a gate the normal way to wind up here.

[ sure just say "a gate" like that's not vague ]

[ it's fine, she wasn't exactly specific with 'walls.' ]

So we don't know the location, nor how we came to be here. Wonderful.

[ghoststrums]

And we won't find out by staying in here, either. [ his eyes flit over to the younger (he is 17) crowd ] ... But...

[ some of these people look like they might need a minute. ]

... Even though there doesn't seem to be an active threat, I think it would be wise not to leave alone. I won't stop you, though, if you choose to.

I'm staying here for the time being. Until everyone is a little more at ease. [ there is a very clearly anxious daruma-head, and a boy with a less than apt name that... look like they need a little babysitting. for a while. ]

[ he looks a little torn, to be honest ]

... There's some people I need to look for. And we need to see what's outside this dorm eventually.

Of course. I'm not staying locked up in here, forever.

If it's any help, I'll look after everyone, here. I don't want to keep you from reuniting with allies.

[ if they're even around. he frowns a bit, looking at. the mess of people ]

You sure?

[ they are kind of chaotic. ]

Of course. They seem like an agreeable bunch.

[ she doesn't sound entirely sincere about that, given how many people didn't even want to give their name. but caiman did stop swinging his knife around when she asked, so it's probably fine! ]

[ghoststrums]

[ ... there's just doubt on his face... for a second... before he nods ]

Then I'll leave them to you for now. [ ah, wait. he takes out his cellphone?? he's a modern?? ] Do you know how to use these?

[ i'm glad they put themselves in charge of everyone else. ]

I don't know what that is.

[ghoststrums]

[ they're the parents now?? ]

Communication devices. You should've gotten one, too. [ he shows her briefly how to open it and get to texting ] If I'm right...

[ he types her name and she shows up, wow ]

You can send messages through this. So if anything happens, I'll know to come back.

[illuminance]

[ she's doing her best to not look too overwhelmed by the things changing on the screen. ]

I see. Alright, perfect.

Then you'll be able to let me know if you need backup, as well.

[ghoststrums]

[ nods ]

I'll keep you updated. [ he's ignoring that he really can't do much but throw a punch or run if he's in trouble it's fine no one needs to know ] Is there anyone you're looking for?

[ he can like. check? too? ]

[ yeah she's totally unarmed too so i'm not sure what she thinks she can do to help anyone.

and she. frowns. ]

... No. No one.

[ghoststrums]
