The common room of the Fall Dorm has soft, dimmer lighting; plush carpet over wood; and several comfortable chairs and sectionals. A few big windows overlook the dormitory area of campus, but there is also a single, cozy bay window on one side.

A television and bluetooth surround-sound are here for Fall students who are more inclined to be tech savvy. In the cabinets under the entertainment stand are an assortment of board games, but the television does have a generic "free tv" app for shows and music.

Above the enormous center fireplace is a moody painting.

On one of the tables is a welcome basket.

Through a door on the first floor, there is an antigravity room. Stepping just a few feet through the doorway will lift everyone up into the air. The seating and most of the rest of the room remains somehow rightfully in place on the floor and will not move. Students, however, can grab pillows and blankets, cups or bowls, or other small items to bring into the air with them.

[Caleb is standing here awkwardly towards the back, taking in the group, but just instantly starts making this face when he sees Kissa. Not even looking at Lalli, just Kissa.]

Frumpkin, go say hello to that cat.

[An orange bengal cat who seems to have been hiding in the room nearby strolls out and starts padding over in that direction, body language cautious but friendly.]

[MORE CATS MORE CATS

Lalli watches the interaction between the two cats, not unlike a mother watching their child make new friends. He's ready to jump in and scoop up Kissa if she gets attacked, but that is probably unnecessary because Kissa is a friendly kitten and goes right up to Frumpkin to make friends. She is still a baby though, and her attempts at friendship are crouching down and trying to bat at Frumpkin in a playful manner.]

[Frumpkin is a little unusually obedient and intelligent for a cat, it seems, and when he's told to go make friends, that's what he does. He appears patient and friendly, responding to the attempts to play with gentle playfulness himself. Caleb just sort of watches and smiles, like he's forgetting about the crazy situation they're in because the cats are being cute.]

[silentscout]

[Kissa seems pretty intelligent for a cat too! Her collar has a 'B' on it, which absolutely does mean something important in her world. Though those tasks are quickly forgotten in the name of playing with another cat.

Lalli is also content to just watch cats be cats for a bit. But after a few moments, he nods approvingly to Caleb.]

Good. Two cats are better than one.

[katzepaw]

[Nodding back, in the manner of someone who is very appreciative of the opportunity during this otherwise fairly unsettling day to see a cat.]

Ja, certainly. Uhm. This is Frumpkin.

[silentscout]

[He nods. Frumpkin, he will be sure to remember that name.]

This is Kissa.

[katzepaw]

[He will remember Kissa's name. They haven't exchanged names with one another at all. It's fine.]

This is the, uh, kitty cat dorm, it seems. As mysterious as the other ones still are.

[silentscout]

Mhmm. There should be cats in all the dorms though, they're valuable and helpful. They shouldn't expect just two cats to take care of everyone.

[katzepaw]

Maybe there are? Maybe every dorm has its own helpful cat friend. Though this fine fellow you see is here to help me, so I don't know if he's available for the job of dorm cat.

[silentscout]

Are you two a Cleanser pair?

[This probably means something in Lalli's world.]

[katzepaw]

A. . . cleanser pair?

[What does that mean. He hesitates for a second, before - ]

I'm not sure what that is, but no. He is my familiar. He is a fey, but he likes to be a cat.

[silentscout]

Cleaners fight trolls, and cats often work close with humans for that job.

[He surprisingly knows what a fey is though, and suddenly he's regarding Frumpkin with a touch more caution.]

The stories of the Fair Folk that I have heard aren't exactly the best. He's not going to be mischievous, is he?

[katzepaw]

Typically not, but this one is bound to me. [For sure, you don't want to mess with an unbound fey creature.] . . . And he is a good boy. He is mischievous like any cat is mischievous, but he likes to help.

Do you and your cat fight trolls?

[silentscout]

Kissa handles rodent-sized trolls. The rest of our team, including me, takes care of the bigger ones.

[katzepaw]

I may not look like much, and I'm not, but I've fought a couple trolls before with my team. [He's scrawny, but he seems unembarrassed by that.] I haven't seen the rodent sized kind before.

[silentscout]

Really? What kind did you see before? Just person-sized?

[katzepaw]

Always much, much bigger than a single person.

[silentscout]

That sounds more like a Giant than a Troll.

[katzepaw]

I've fought giants as well, but they are even bigger still.

[silentscout]

Giants are the biggest, but they're usually made from multiple bodies. Trolls should be smaller since it's just one body.
