FALL COMMON ROOM - WEEK 0

The common room of the Fall Dorm has soft, dimmer lighting; plush carpet over wood; and several comfortable chairs and sectionals. A few big windows overlook the dormitory area of campus, but there is also a single, cozy bay window on one side.

A television and bluetooth surround-sound are here for Fall students who are more inclined to be tech savvy. In the cabinets under the entertainment stand are an assortment of board games, but the television does have a generic "free tv" app for shows and music.

Above the enormous center fireplace is a moody painting.

On one of the tables is a welcome basket.

Through a door on the first floor, there is an antigravity room. Stepping just a few feet through the doorway will lift everyone up into the air. The seating and most of the rest of the room remains somehow rightfully in place on the floor and will not move. Students, however, can grab pillows and blankets, cups or bowls, or other small items to bring into the air with them.

When someone non-immune catches the Rash, they get sick and a rash slowly spreads over their whole body, starting from the infection point. If they're not lucky enough to die first, the rash eventually starts to mutate their body into a a monstrous form that is unaging, undying, and exists only to eat people and spread the Rash further.

Humans who have changed like that are called Trolls. Other mammals that change are called Beasts.

Mmm. It's better if they're not here. Especially if we don't know who's immune and who isn't. Even one tiny scratch is enough to pass it to someone who isn't immune.

How do you even become immune anyway...?

You're born with it. You have to have the immunity in your family for you to have it too. My grandmother was immune, but I was the only one of her grandchildren that is immune too.

No. They've been trying to make one for decades, but it's never worked out.

So the immune have to fight the infected, I'm guessing?

Sometimes. It's better to just stay in the safe areas and patrol outside the fences to make sure the trolls stay far away.
