FALL COMMON ROOM - WEEK 0

The common room of the Fall Dorm has soft, dimmer lighting; plush carpet over wood; and several comfortable chairs and sectionals. A few big windows overlook the dormitory area of campus, but there is also a single, cozy bay window on one side.

A television and bluetooth surround-sound are here for Fall students who are more inclined to be tech savvy. In the cabinets under the entertainment stand are an assortment of board games, but the television does have a generic "free tv" app for shows and music.

Above the enormous center fireplace is a moody painting.

On one of the tables is a welcome basket.

Through a door on the first floor, there is an antigravity room. Stepping just a few feet through the doorway will lift everyone up into the air. The seating and most of the rest of the room remains somehow rightfully in place on the floor and will not move. Students, however, can grab pillows and blankets, cups or bowls, or other small items to bring into the air with them.

Hm. Let's see if I remember...

You can't have killed or purposely tried to kill anyone... Or indirectly killed anyone by accident, but I think it's fine if the person you killed forgives you, or whatever. That and you should do something good and righteous... Like go after criminals or feed orphans? Or you can just not kill people. And I don't know where heaven is, it's just my job to get people to go there.

It's not just for heaven! Think of it as a consultation. A talk about whether or not heaven is worth going, and where to go from there if it's not. That kind of thing.

[ He sticks his hands in his pockets. All he has is a few coins and extremely crumpled bills of an unknown, foreign currency.

Don't worry. What if I start a tab for you? You can pay me back later -- in money, or in other services.

Of course not. What if you end up reaching a decision before the free trial ends? Then I'd have done all that work for free.
