common room.

In the common room, the walls have been painted with photo-like pictures of forests and lakes, and spread across the ceiling is a depiction of the night sky. One wall is lined with bookcases, the books ranging from fiction to non-fiction as well used course textbooks. More bookcases have been used to section off one corner for a study area, with a desk and chair provided.

Elsewhere, there are a few couches and chairs, most seated around a coffee table and with throw blankets tossed over them if you need the extra warmth. On the table is a bowl of healthy and semi-healthy snacks, regularly stocked. (Nearby is a garbage can.)

This week, there is a welcome basket near the bowl.

Past an entrance in the common room, a mini coffeehouse has been set up, with express machines for those who just want their coffee now and slightly more advanced equipment for aficionados. It offers a variety of strength levels and flavors to accommodate tastes all across the spectrum, along with a teapot and packets of caffeinated and non-caffeinated tea for those who prefer a different drink. There's a sink if you want to use your own mug, but otherwise, disposable cups are provided for you to use.

Why would I do that when it's more comfortable if there's leaves anyway?

I've slept under blankets before! But this is good too. When I was young my father would cover me in leaves just like this.

[Huff puff.]

Okay then, whatever. [it's still kind of weird but he doesn't really have time to argue about it.] Just try not to spread them out too much, alright?

Like I said, they’re to go on my bed. Not yours. What are you, allergic to leaves or something?

Nope. [he just thinks it's weird but you do you. nevertheless...] Good luck with the leaf-arranging and stuff then.

[he's still a man on a mission.]

[He is clambering up to the bunk to arrange them, but he's still curious about this other boy and his mystery item.]

Maybe whoever brought us here took it off of you?

Maybe. [probably, actually, which is even more of a reason he wants to keep looking. maybe they left a clue.] Not that they'd have any use for it.

[...not any that he'll elaborate on, anyway.]

Are you missing stuff, too?

I didn't really have anything on me to lose.

[Anyway the lack of elaboration makes him curious.]

What does it do? Or what is it supposed to do, anyway.

Let's just say it's really, really important and something only I can use. If I don't have it, a few people are in trouble.
