In the common room, the walls have been painted with photo-like pictures of forests and lakes, and spread across the ceiling is a depiction of the night sky. One wall is lined with bookcases, the books ranging from fiction to non-fiction as well used course textbooks. More bookcases have been used to section off one corner for a study area, with a desk and chair provided.

Elsewhere, there are a few couches and chairs, most seated around a coffee table and with throw blankets tossed over them if you need the extra warmth. On the table is a bowl of healthy and semi-healthy snacks, regularly stocked. (Nearby is a garbage can.)

This week, there is a welcome basket near the bowl.

Past an entrance in the common room, a mini coffeehouse has been set up, with express machines for those who just want their coffee now and slightly more advanced equipment for aficionados. It offers a variety of strength levels and flavors to accommodate tastes all across the spectrum, along with a teapot and packets of caffeinated and non-caffeinated tea for those who prefer a different drink. There's a sink if you want to use your own mug, but otherwise, disposable cups are provided for you to use.

I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case. There was no way that their cluelessness about our presence here was genuine.

It is pretty suspicious how, if this was all a mix-up, nobody's actually tried to apologize or fix it...

But then, I wonder why bother with the ruse to begin with?

Perhaps for the sick satisfaction of lulling us into a sense of security? I can't claim to understand the minds of villains.

But the question is: what do we do now? Avenge him?

I'm not sure I care that much about avenging a total stranger, but I think it's going to bite us in the ass if we don't get to the bottom of what happened.

That's one way of putting it. We're sorely outmatched right now, but hopefully some sort of weakness will come up with a bit of investigating.

Yeah. There's gotta be something we can learn from this.

I tried to see if I could find what set off that annoying alarm, but all I found was some cold tea.

Tea? What do you mean? Where?

Hm? A table in the cafeteria. Looked like two people were having a drink, and then left without finishing.
