In the common room, the walls have been painted with photo-like pictures of forests and lakes, and spread across the ceiling is a depiction of the night sky. One wall is lined with bookcases, the books ranging from fiction to non-fiction as well used course textbooks. More bookcases have been used to section off one corner for a study area, with a desk and chair provided.

Elsewhere, there are a few couches and chairs, most seated around a coffee table and with throw blankets tossed over them if you need the extra warmth. On the table is a bowl of healthy and semi-healthy snacks, regularly stocked. (Nearby is a garbage can.)

This week, there is a welcome basket near the bowl.

Past an entrance in the common room, a mini coffeehouse has been set up, with express machines for those who just want their coffee now and slightly more advanced equipment for aficionados. It offers a variety of strength levels and flavors to accommodate tastes all across the spectrum, along with a teapot and packets of caffeinated and non-caffeinated tea for those who prefer a different drink. There's a sink if you want to use your own mug, but otherwise, disposable cups are provided for you to use.

Sooo.. um, I guess we're gonna be... staying here for now? Maybe we should get to know each other and call dibs on beds or something.

[ mouths "no offense" in the guys' directions ]

Why don't you just share with each other? The bed's big enough for at least three of you.

[she's looking around, like she's hoping for some other option...]

Fine, I could live with that. For the time being.

[ tiny girls unite ]

[ maya brightens like she hadn't even though of that. ]

Yeah! That wouldn't be so bad. There's plenty of room for the both of us.

Then it's settled! You girls share a bed while we guys get individual bunks.

[rita looks kind of unsure at how quickly this other girl's expression brightens...]

... Yeah. Guess it's up to you guys to sort out the bunks between you. If there's nothing else, I'm going to go see what else is up with this place.

[Yeah, he went outside and got punched again, so now he's wandered back here for safety.]

Oh, take it, that is not a place of happy memories for me now.

[ maya tilts her head at molly...... ]

[ it's gonna be worse because she's about to be very annoying ]

Yeah. I'd wager. Rough feels a bit inadequate, actually.

What if I fluff your bunk bed pillow for you? Maybe that would make some happy memories!

[ the pillow was the issue, right ]

[That's fine. Staring is not really like, a shock to him. Happens a lot.]

You know, I've heard a lot of things said about tieflings before, but that one? That's new. So congratulations on creativity, I suppose.

Everyone here - including people with faces you might know - is a lunatic, is what happened!

Maybe they're just not used to seeing someone with a face like yours.

[THIS IS THE WEIRDEST LOOKIN LAD HE'S EVER SEEN but also the most punched lookin lad he's seen so honestly

after he comes back looking even more punched, Sakyou's just wandering down to the common room floor and coming back up with a cup of tea, which he will offer out.]

...You look like you could use it.

[Oh this is really nice. He eyeballs the cup of tea suspiciously for about ten whole seconds before he decides he has no energy to question anything anymore and reaches out with both hands to take it - holding it and then just slowly slumping in his chair like a sack of potatoes.]

[MOLLY your WELL-FOUNDED SUSPICIONS. He seems to understand the hesitation at least, and just offers a little quirk of a barely-there smile after the cup is taken. It might be a little too strong or a little too weak since he had to figure out the kettle and Instant Tea on the fly, but it's fine, they're doing their best here.]
