common room.

In the common room, the walls have been painted with photo-like pictures of forests and lakes, and spread across the ceiling is a depiction of the night sky. One wall is lined with bookcases, the books ranging from fiction to non-fiction as well used course textbooks. More bookcases have been used to section off one corner for a study area, with a desk and chair provided.

Elsewhere, there are a few couches and chairs, most seated around a coffee table and with throw blankets tossed over them if you need the extra warmth. On the table is a bowl of healthy and semi-healthy snacks, regularly stocked. (Nearby is a garbage can.)

This week, there is a welcome basket near the bowl.

specialty room.

Past an entrance in the common room, a mini coffeehouse has been set up, with express machines for those who just want their coffee now and slightly more advanced equipment for aficionados. It offers a variety of strength levels and flavors to accommodate tastes all across the spectrum, along with a teapot and packets of caffeinated and non-caffeinated tea for those who prefer a different drink. There's a sink if you want to use your own mug, but otherwise, disposable cups are provided for you to use.

He's actually gone a pretty lengthy amount of time so apparently he's taking his checking duties very seriously. In any case yeah haha he turns up empty-handed sooner or later, shaking his head a little.]

I didn't find anything of the sort down there, or near the entrance outside either.

on the other hand, when sakyou returns he will find that taichi's sitting on the floor. he didn't find a digivice, but he sure is holding a silver referee whistle hanging from a pink lanyard.]

Yeah. The rooms are empty, too. Thanks for trying anyway.

Anyway he's also never seen a whistle like this before, since the ones in his era are flat and palm-sized, so he's just giving it a curious look.]

Mm, I'm sorry that I couldn't find anything. [First and foremost. Then, with a little nod to indicate the whistle:] Did you find that instead...?

It's almost nicer to know I didn't just miss it. [so not finding it is just as good. there's a nod though.]

It was under the bed I woke up in this morning. It must've fell before I noticed it was here.

I wonder where the rest of our belongings went, though...

[There's just a dragon stash somewhere of all their various treasures...]

I see. I'm glad you could at least find that, then. [...] May I ask what it is?

[there's another frown because yeah! sure would like his belongings! and also his partner! shrieking!]

Oh. It's a whistle. [...and to demonstrate, he puts it in his mouth and blows softly.]

Anyway, Sakyou looks intrigued! For like five seconds, and then just tired again, his expression minutely pinched.]

Even the whistles are unrecognizable... [BINCH THEIR BEDS DON'T EVEN LOOK LIKE THESE, HE'S SO TIRED.]

[being sakyou is suffering, and taichi lets the whistle fall out of his mouth before it drops and bounces against his chest a little since he's wearing the lanyard.]

Totally different world?

[Being Sakyou IS suffering... The idea of totally different worlds existing is still kind of discomforting for him, though it doesn't show very strongly on his face.]

It's seeming more and more like that's the case, though saying as much feels like something out of a storybook.

Yeah, it's pretty weird the first time. But after a while you get used to it. Uh, different worlds, not necessarily this one.

--You do this sort of thing, then? Visit other... worlds, is it?

One other world, yeah. It isn't always easy to get there, but we've been a couple of times. My friends live there.

[Living in a whole literal separate world from your friends... That's the saddest story ever told.]

It must be difficult for you, if you can't reach them easily.

[he doesn't immediately respond because he's looking at the whistle thoughtfully.]

We used to be able to see them a lot more. But then it was a few years before we could. We just got them back and they were in our world with us before I got here.

[so he's kinda pissed. it's fine.]

He actually does seem to get it to some degree, since he just nods once, looking understanding.]

All the more reason for us to find out what's happened to us as quickly as we possibly can.

Yeah, for sure. [he would very much like to find out what's happening.] But you've probably got some stuff to get back to, too, don't you?

I do, yes. But I'd say that's the same for all of us, most likely... That tends to be the case when you're kidnapped in the middle of your day.

[MISTER BEAR RUINED ALL THEIR PLANS.]

[yeah in before somebody's actually from a canonpoint where they're dead.]

Mm. Yeah...I wonder if we were all brought here during or after similar situations. What's the connection for all of us?

[looks at manwol... though at least she has a snazzy hotel to run.]

I haven't found any similarities yet. I was just looking at a notice board for my town before I woke up here... Were you doing anything similar?

No, it wasn't anything like that. We were just...[ah...] Things were better.

Maybe you read a really important notice that helped the principal or whoever pick you?

["Things were better" sounds depressos, given their current state of being abductees and all...

AS FOR THE NOTICE BOARD HAHA it's fine we don't talk about it. He purses his lips, glancing off to the side for a moment.]

I don't think the notice I was reading was important enough to warrant something like this, but I can't say I understand the thought process of anyone who would do this in the first place.

Me either. Unless there's something they really need from us, but even then...it's probably just vague enough we won't know.

Perhaps with a little more time it'll clear up? Though - with no offense meant to any of you, of course - I would rather not have that time pass at all. Not here, in any case...

Even if time passes here, we don't have a guarantee that time's passing there. That's just one of the things I want to find out before this gets too far.
