SUMMER COMMON ROOM - WEEK 0

The common room is as bright and open as the rest of the dorm. Beanbag chairs and even more hammocks are situated around for any of your resting needs, because who needs couches? There are a few blankets on the couch just for comfort, but the temperature is never cold enough to need them because of chill. There's also an absurd amount of pillows.

The walls are decorated with paintings that are either modern art pieces or done by kindergarteners. There are also photographs tacked onto the walls as well, of seemingly random things like a vase of flowers, a mailbox, a bird on a tree branch. The photos are less about grand views and feels more like someone testing out a camera.

On a table is a welcome basket.

In the common room, there's a door that leads to what can only be described as an Occult Room for some strange reason. Unlike the rest of the dorm, this room is dimly lit and is crowded with items—a skeleton that may or may not be real, taxidermy animals, really creepy looking dolls, an actual coffin, etc. On a table to the side is a Ouija board, a few tarot decks, and crystal ball.

Mmhm, in a way. It's so dangerous there, with Hawkmoth and the akumas and everything...

But here seems nice! I'm not totally sure what's going on yet, but at least we aren't alone. We can figure it out together!

[ Those sure are words that mean nothing to him! Huh. ]

Pleasant as it may be, I do think it a matter of great import that we delve deeper into our circumstances. But, you have the right of it—with any luck, we shall do so sooner than later.

Want to go look around once we've had something to eat?

Eager as I am to get started, 'twould not do to do so on an empty stomach. Have you found the pastries to your liking?

Everyone seems less daunting when you're not hungry, right? It's all pretty tasty so far! what kind of flavors do you like?

[arcsplainist]

Hmm...

[ Finally, he wanders over toward the table, and after a moment of consideration, picks up a pastry filled with strawberry and cream cheese. ]

I do prefer rolanberries, myself, as they have just the right amount of sweetness for my taste.

Rolanberries... mmm, I don't know if any of these have those, but I'm sure you'll find something you like!

[arcsplainist]

—Hm? Oh, worry not, there are plenty right here.

Oh! I see.

Where I was born, we'd call that fruit fragola.

[arcsplainist]

Fragola? The term is new to me as well, but I have not heard of... It was Paris you mentioned hailing from, was it not?

[wtfox]

Right! That's the term for just one of the berries. For more than one, it's fragole. Oh, but that's just where I was born! I live in Paris now, but I was born in Rome.

In Paris, you'd call one of them a fraise.

So, I guess where you're from, the world is rolanberry!

[arcsplainist]

Aye, 'twould seem so. So one could say this– [ he lifts up his pastry ] –is filled with fragole, correct?

[ He's used to saying French-esque names often so at least the word comes easily enough. ]

I know naught of neither Paris or Rome, so it is a wholly unfamiliar language to me.

Right! Wow, you're a quick learner!

[she beams]

[ With that, he'll take a seat nearby and actually eat the pastry. ]

Yet I won't deny I am always eager to learn, and I am especially curious about your home.

Really? What are you most curious about?

[arcsplainist]

Oh, simply that you made mention of it being dangerous, is all. I mean not to dredge up any unpleasant memories, of course, but I thought it curious you would mention it.

[wtfox]

Oh, well... There's a supervillain named Hawkmoth, who has these evil butterflies that he uses to turn other people into supervillains, and... it seems like he does that nearly every day?

So... it's pretty tough. And so far, it seems a lot more peaceful here, which I think is a good thing?

[arcsplainist]

[ A supervillain—as opposed to just, a regular villain? But he isn't about to downplay her words, so. ]

Then, for your sake, I do hope the peace is here to stay. At the very least, you will not have to worry about those troubles while we are... supposedly to attend classes.

[wtfox]

That would be nice... oh, but don't worry! I'm used to danger, so if it turns out not to be peaceful, I'll protect you.

[arcsplainist]

[ She's so earnest... He can't help but smile a touch at that. ]

You are too kind, but you needn't worry for my sake. Mayhap there is another who could use your protection more than I.

That won't stop me from wanting to look out for you! It looks like we're... dormmates, I think would be the word?

[arcsplainist]

Indeed, that is so. Then what say I watch your back as well, if you wish to watch mine?
