SUMMER COMMON ROOM - WEEK 0

The common room is as bright and open as the rest of the dorm. Beanbag chairs and even more hammocks are situated around for any of your resting needs, because who needs couches? There are a few blankets on the couch just for comfort, but the temperature is never cold enough to need them because of chill. There's also an absurd amount of pillows.

The walls are decorated with paintings that are either modern art pieces or done by kindergarteners. There are also photographs tacked onto the walls as well, of seemingly random things like a vase of flowers, a mailbox, a bird on a tree branch. The photos are less about grand views and feels more like someone testing out a camera.

On a table is a welcome basket.

In the common room, there's a door that leads to what can only be described as an Occult Room for some strange reason. Unlike the rest of the dorm, this room is dimly lit and is crowded with items—a skeleton that may or may not be real, taxidermy animals, really creepy looking dolls, an actual coffin, etc. On a table to the side is a Ouija board, a few tarot decks, and crystal ball.

I guess we're all just. Staying here?

Mmhm, that's my name. Don't forget it, okay?

[she smiles!]

...it looks like it! It didn't seem like there were enough beds for all of us upstairs, but these hammocks are really comfy, so I don't mind it.

[duranduel]

I wouldn't?

[Mandricardo just assuming that's like a dig at his memory or something.]

The hammocks do look comfortable...maybe I'll sleep here away from everyone else.

[nooooo, it's not meant to be a dig... but she looks satisfied to know he won't forget her.]

I was thinking I might sleep out here, too, if the others want the beds. The bunk beds look pretty cool, but since I'm okay with this, it's only fair in case the others aren't okay with it, right...?

[duranduel]

[He's coming close to one of the free hammocks.]

I guess? I mean, if no one complains, then that usually works out for me.

Well, I promise I don't snore, so if we're both out here you won't have anything to worry about!

[duranduel]

Oh, don't worry, I wouldn't care about that. I don't snore either. Uh, pretty sure.

Then it sounds like it'll be fine if we're roommates!

[duranduel]

Roommates...

[oh wait THAT'S A SCARY WORD]

I'll try to uh...stay out of your way...

[wtfox]

[she waves a hand]

There's plenty of space! I call dibs on this hammock, though.

[duranduel]

Yeah, that's fine.

[And sitting down on a hammock.]

This is mine.

[wtfox]

Okay! I'll be sure not to accidentally use that one.

[she smiles]

I mean, I don't really mind...it's just a hammock.

[wtfox]

Right, but it's your space! So you should be able to trust that other people aren't just getting in it.

[duranduel]

I'm used to being on the move, camping wherever seems safe. I'm not used to having my "own space", y'know. And that's fine by me.

If someone needs it more than I do, go ahead.

[wtfox]

...you're actually a really nice guy, you know!

[duranduel]

I-I wouldn't say that...

Um, hello? "If someone needs it more than I do, go ahead"? That's super nice of you! A lot of people wouldn't give up their things for others.

No, I just don't see it as a big deal...it's nothing to write home about.

[she giggles]

I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree!

[He kind of falls silent here BECAUSE HE'S JUST AWKWARD, WHAT TO SAY]

[just smiles and sips her tea!!]

[Yeah, he's going to just slump back into the hammock and turn away. Introvert time! TOO MANY NICE THINGS ARE BEING SAID. VERY OVERWHELMING.]
