SUMMER COMMON ROOM - WEEK 0

The common room is as bright and open as the rest of the dorm. Beanbag chairs and even more hammocks are situated around for any of your resting needs, because who needs couches? There are a few blankets on the couch just for comfort, but the temperature is never cold enough to need them because of chill. There's also an absurd amount of pillows.

The walls are decorated with paintings that are either modern art pieces or done by kindergarteners. There are also photographs tacked onto the walls as well, of seemingly random things like a vase of flowers, a mailbox, a bird on a tree branch. The photos are less about grand views and feels more like someone testing out a camera.

On a table is a welcome basket.

In the common room, there's a door that leads to what can only be described as an Occult Room for some strange reason. Unlike the rest of the dorm, this room is dimly lit and is crowded with items—a skeleton that may or may not be real, taxidermy animals, really creepy looking dolls, an actual coffin, etc. On a table to the side is a Ouija board, a few tarot decks, and crystal ball.

[ A CAT GIRL. Nier is distracted by her tail and ears, but tries to focus on her question. ]

I'm guessing you haven't read the letter...

[ Since he has the acceptance letter on hand, he gives it to her? ]

[A CAT GIRL!! who opens her mouth to say something, but then Nier shoves a letter into her hands and she clings to it tightly and blinks a few times, before furrowing her brows to read it]

[and then a third time]

[she looks positively perplexed]

[ Catra... He understands the shock, but damn. That's SHOCK. He gives her a moment before speaking up: ]

Will you be okay?

[ He isn't sure what part of the letter should be addressed as he isn't a normie. ]

[supercatty]

[whispers what is a school]

[whispers she doesn't want to fight someone else's war (because she, of course, is taking the word "war" literally)]

[PLAY IT COOL, CATRA]

[she collects herself pretty quickly and crumbles up Nier's letter, tossing it from one hand to another before lobbing it at him to catch]

Not sure why you're asking me that, Cupcake. Everything seems pretty self-explanatory.

[ It's okay. She isn't the only one that is like (sweats profusely) at the word "war." Nier is hoping it's friendly competition, but let's address Catra.

He catches the letter and looks at her, eyebrows raising. Hmmm. ]

I was asking because it looked like the whole world crumbled before your very eyes when you finished reading the letter.

[ Truths. ]

[supercatty]

You're imagining things. It's fine.

I just didn't expect to get dragged into someone else's battle today; that's all.

[ He laughs a bit because Catra is kind of funny?? ]

You don't need to put up a front. We're all in the same situation here, though I guess some of us are more confused than others.

[ Let them go over this: ]

[ COMFORTING. ]

[sharply, emphatically, bristling a bit when she says this]

[ ... You know what? He isn't going to argue too much. She seems more on edge than he is. ]

[she is VERY on edge, so this is a wise idea. evident by the way she settles shortly afterwards]

Anyway, point is, this is stupid. I'm taking the first space ship out of here.

[clearly they arrived on space ship since she was on one prior to being here]

[ He's glad that she's taking this better now, despite how EVERYTHING ISN'T OKAY. ]

... I'm going to guess a spaceship is nothing like a regular ship.

[ They did not all arrive in a spaceship, Catra. ]

For now, we might as well relax .

Uh, duh, of course it isn't. It's a ship for space, versus a ship for the ocean.

[shivering a bit when she says "ocean," on instinct. cats hate water :( :( :(]

And relaxing doesn't really seem like the brightest of ideas, personally speaking.

I only mentioned relaxing because you seem anxious. This building does seem nice, too.

[ Just point it out again, but anyway. He hums since she wants ACTION and he can respect that. ]

It would be good if we surveyed the area.

[the way her tail flicks and fur bristles is testament to the opposite, but. you know]

[ He can't argue what he doesn't know, so have that. ]
