... I've told others who suggested such things to me that I'd - take it into consideration. I'm doing my best to listen and understand but... Well, the four of us were all in assorted meetings together last week. It wouldn't be odd for us to have all been served one bad dish, or caught a bug from each other either.

Coincidences exist but I'm not against the idea of a theory being created of something else... I just don't know what that something else would be. I'm not sure why she'd suggest that something larger was at play when this is merely a school.

When you guys say things like that, it raises some suspicions. Maybe this place really is just a school, but if there's some legacy that makes it a murder academy, obviously people are going to be upset. And okay, so you guys were all together. But for all of you to get sick and then get better at the same time?

...I don't know. There are a lot of possibilities and I don't know which one I should even be looking at. If any. Especially when I still don't have proof we asked to be here.

Ah - but I think that's where there's a misunderstanding... There's nothing that makes this school distinctly prone to murder. We've had a very long history without murder. And while I can acknowledge that there's an oddity with your new class being brought here and one of you suddenly choosing to kill another, it's not as if we're founded on the idea of violence.

I don't mind thought experiments and logic exercises - but at the same time... the reasoning is what eludes me. What purpose would it serve for all four of us to not be present during the weekend? We have less authority to change things than Principal Bear.

I don't mean to discount your suspicions entirely - rather... I think that more information still needs to be collected.

[not entirely true, but he does usually leave it to koushiro instead.] I want to know about the school's history because even if there is a long history without murder, there seems to be a history that involves it, too. I was hoping for archives. Newspapers. Anything like that?

Hmm... You can keep looking through the library, I suppose. I provided Luxanna a basic summary of the school's founding, though given that I wasn't aware of the previous incident that started this whole thing, I couldn't include that.

Then if there are plenty of reasons, we ought to determine which one it is in order to properly posit this theory. But you're right - it seems many things remain unclear. I don't believe anyone is really moving forward with the intention of being idle about it all...

But I'm afraid that the four of us do have our own limitations of what knowledge we possess as students. Not that we aren't trying, of course.

I read the forum the first day you guys got to talk to us and I've been asking around. Chad said there was some incident in school history, and the principal said there was a legacy and rules in place he can't change. It sort of implies that there's a history here that we should probably be concerned about.

That's all correct - the incident happened near the founding, which is why the rules appeared after the murder. Principal Bear didn't have the authority to adjust those, and we must ultimately comply with school tradition in that sense... but it's not as though murder is common or expected. If anything, I find it more odd that it happened just as we ran into the issue with all of your admissions.

But oh... well, it's not up to you to change anyone's minds regarding us. I appreciate the sentiment though. All I can hope for is that people will talk to us and come to their own conclusions. I understand that it's a complicated situation, at least. No one's feelings on us could possibly be straightforward right now.

Probably because our admissions aren't real. Or, if they are, I still haven't seen my application and I can't think of anything that would get me to apply here. I was kinda in the middle of something.

Ah, admissions taking a dip is a common trend through all universities. I wouldn't say that's a particularly unique situation Wiwaldi is in. If you receive more applications but aren't able to expand seats for students, then the admissions rate goes down. That's all it is.

As for the emails... I think it's something to do with IT? We don't manage all the technology on campus, I'm afraid. I wasn't even aware there was an issue until someone mentioned it to me.

Everybody gets a phone when they show up at this campus, don't they? What happens if the phone stops working on its own? Like...if I wanted to talk to IT, where would I go?

Hmm, well the IT Department resides in the Administration Building - though that's currently under construction.

Doesn't that seem inconvenient to have an Administration Building under construction while classes are in session? There isn't another office somewhere?

People are remarkably capable of working remotely - but staff have limited access to the building. It's just not open to all students for safety reasons at the moment.

Ah, I don't think so... It seems like she already mentioned it to Sally beforehand, too.

It simply led to some minor rooming adjustments. A very, very small price to pay in favor of letting her reunite with her friend, and enjoy the company of the others.

Oh, not at all. We'll simply do our best to accommodate the numbers. I can get creative.

If people wish to make Winter Dorm their home - then I'm simply a very lucky person. I want to keep them safe and happy. It's nice to have things so lively.

[there's a nod of understanding, and then he just. considers that for a moment. there are things he wants to ask and wants to say, but he settles on something else entirely.]

Hmm... that's a rather large question - well, at least to me.

I love it when people are happy, and this seemed like a job that would best allow me to be able to create those conditions. I think that school can be a very nerve-wracking place, full of social pressures and fears, so... I thought if I could be in charge of a dorm, I could help create a home for people.

There are also things like being able to live on campus, having it look good on a resume - but if I'm to be honest with myself, it's more for the first reason.

I don't think there's anything bad about that. Wanting people to be happy and safe. It's pretty admirable, actually. [it's something he can agree with, but at the same time he's starting to think he could agree with all of their reasons.] Is that why you went into political science, too?

I wouldn't call it admirable - I think many people have similar thoughts, they might just be a little embarrassed to express it.

But I went into political science for many reasons. One of them would be to try to create better systems and situations for people, yes. I have many goals and ideals! This is simply the path I chose to make them come true.

Many people do, but there's just as many people who don't think of other people at all. That's why it's still worth acknowledging, I think.

Goals aren't bad either. But how'd you decide that was the path you wanted to take for it instead of some other path?

Hm... Well, my family has a history in politics - so it's arguably a good foothold for me to already make change. But...

[she pauses, like she's wondering how much to say]

... Well, I'm someone who thinks in the long-term. I would rather create systems that will last a very long time that let people have the power to take care of themselves. Charity is good, and generosity is wonderful - but it doesn't fix long-lasting problems.

So I thought I could create things in political systems, and that would do more good than me trying to help everyone individually.
