[Please don't waste any worry on this man Viola, he went ice skating today or at least made an attempt...
But!! He'll be opening the door soon enough, since he'd been vibing in the common area anyway. Stepping aside politely to let her through!]
Thank you for coming.
[Do they even still have the goose poop couch, who knows. The common area is decently tidy at least, if only because Sakyou and Maya are both neat freaks. Hateful. He's also got a little plate of snacks set out already! Please spare him sugar.]
But away they gooo to the couches!! He can't be nice and pull out a chair for her, so he just gently indicates whatever couch is nicest before sitting on one facing it.]
I hope you enjoy. I'm still learning my way around the kitchen of this time...
[He also probably recruited help it's fine... Most of what's here are just little simple savory snackies that pair well with tea.]
[she will!! and she'll also procure cups of tea from the basket. these are also not too sweet because someone wisened up after his remarks the last time they had tea. :) ]
It's thoughtful of you to prepare anything at all. I hope that this tea is to your liking as well.
[she offers it out to him! it's probably more citrusy in flavor with some floral notes]
Sakyou also hates this. Would he have just sweatily dodged around the matter?? Quite possibly! It's fine. As things are, though, he still feels pretty guilty about it, and his gaze drifts to a very interesting spot on the table.]
...Yes. I'm glad that Catra-san already made others aware of this particular oddity, but it doesn't help one much when they're experiencing it. It was impossible for me to tell that anything was amiss. [...] Still, I apologize for any trouble it may have caused.
[At least at the time he felt fine! And honestly, so many other horrific things have happened that this just feels like another checkbox on a long list.]
Still, it's troubling to speak insincerely - both to myself and to those I talk to, even if it's unintentional.
They do seem to enjoy this sort of thing in particular...
[Between everything he's personally experienced and what he's suspecting more and more of their dorm heads... There's a little bit of irritation that leaks into his tone, but it's not directed at her, as usual.]
--In any case, it's good to know how these tricks work, even to a small degree.
That was part of it, yes... Even knowing the troubles that plague this place, I found myself wanting to stay longer - long enough to get a degree, even. But I also wanted to spend my time focusing on things like homework or attending classes or raising my grades, and I'd end up interjecting completely pointless things about the dorm wars or dates or the dance into serious discussion. Normally I'm a proponent of education, but not in a situation where there are fatalities and mass unexplained kidnappings and weekly disappearances to handle...
[He's been trying not to perceive the funkiness of forcibly having his pattern of thinking altered even in more subtle ways than I'm a terrorist now for his own tiny fragile mental health, but considering he suspects the same of the dorm heads, he'll just divulge what he's got.]
That's true. We do get information on something of a schedule now - I've been wandering that myself. I wonder if there's a way to find similarities in what's happened over the past few weeks in order to make sense of them.
The best we've been doing is compiling the information we can when we find it. As far as I'm aware, everyone has been able to share the things they've found on Thursdays, as well as what's been purchased from you four...
[So at least there's that. And as hard as he finds it to trust people, even Sakyou wants to at least believe that no one here would actively attempt to sabotage their attempts at piecing together these puzzles.]
He was, yes... We were able to speak about it a bit after the trial, but weren't able to come up with many other connections or reasons for why it may have happened. It seems we were outside at some point, but to what end?
[Hope he was just running free with the geese and then scooped up by god and slapped back onto his own dorm table.]
I've been keeping notes, and Shinonome-san has as well. His are more detailed, I believe; he would be a good person to speak to if you'd like to start.

By the memorial in front of Spring.
If you don't mind, we can use the common area here?
no subject
You'll simply have to grant me access inside.
I'll be there soon.
[and she will give a little knock knock on the door!! she's clearly antsy about even making him walk around this much]

but viola will be wandering in! it's so different from her own dorm waow.... but she'll just come with a basket and a smile.]
Thank you for inviting me. Come, let's sit.
[stop STANDING]

But!! He will take a sip after accepting the offered cup, and smiles almost immediately.]
Ah - this is a familiar taste... It reminds me of tea that I would drink with my parents in the summer, when yuzu trees bore their fruit.
no subject
but she seems considerably more relieved at that]
Hehe, does it? I'm so glad it's to your liking.
[MUCH BETTER TEATIME]
no subject
Much better teatime, though! He holds the cup carefully, softly nostalgic for a moment.]
Did you make this one yourself?
no subject
anyway she's just going to laugh a bit]
I did... I do like to come up with different flavors and recipes - I'll see if I can do something infused with yuzu next time.
[ . . . and then very fondly]
I'm glad you're feeling more like yourself as well.

[He says "it" but he means "I".]
no subject
Did you cause trouble?
If anything I feel like that's more troubling for you to experience...

[At least at the time he felt fine! And honestly, so many other horrific things have happened that this just feels like another checkbox on a long list.]
Still, it's troubling to speak insincerely - both to myself and to those I talk to, even if it's unintentional.

That wasn't any trouble. I don't personally hold anything against you - if anything I'm just frustrated on your behalf.

And how was it, exactly? You had your own will overridden to make you believe that you wanted to stay here instead of returning home?
[at least, that's the impression she got based on the differences between their conversations]
no subject
[He's been trying not to perceive the funkiness of forcibly having his pattern of thinking altered even in more subtle ways than I'm a terrorist now for his own tiny fragile mental health, but considering he suspects the same of the dorm heads, he'll just divulge what he's got.]
no subject
... it sounds uncomfortable. I'm sorry.
[imagine having your behavior altered like that! weird,]
I wonder what it could mean...
no subject
But for now he's just frowning and looking somewhat thoughtful, taking another sip of his tea.]
...We're working on figuring it out. At the very least, we have more sources of information to pull from than before...
[Even if he sweatily worries about how much any of them can be trusted.]
no subject
That's true. We do get information on something of a schedule now - I've been wandering that myself. I wonder if there's a way to find similarities in what's happened over the past few weeks in order to make sense of them.

Which I think is a fruitful start... but I also think - you and Catra experienced similar effects, didn't you? I wonder why...
There are other trends that run - but no reasoning available for them yet.

[The universe just enjoys bullying furries and samurai.]

[she tilts her head]
So many points to connect... I wonder if I should begin to take more detailed notes.
no subject
[Hope he was just running free with the geese and then scooped up by god and slapped back onto his own dorm table.]
