In the common room, the walls have been painted with photo-like pictures of forests and lakes, and spread across the ceiling is a depiction of the night sky. One wall is lined with bookcases, the books ranging from fiction to non-fiction as well used course textbooks. More bookcases have been used to section off one corner for a study area, with a desk and chair provided.

Elsewhere, there are a few couches and chairs, most seated around a coffee table and with throw blankets tossed over them if you need the extra warmth. On the table is a bowl of healthy and semi-healthy snacks, regularly stocked. (Nearby is a garbage can.)

This week, there is something else on the table.

Past an entrance in the common room, a mini coffeehouse has been set up, with express machines for those who just want their coffee now and slightly more advanced equipment for aficionados. It offers a variety of strength levels and flavors to accommodate tastes all across the spectrum, along with a teapot and packets of caffeinated and non-caffeinated tea for those who prefer a different drink. There's a sink if you want to use your own mug, but otherwise, disposable cups are provided for you to use.

Pasted on the wall by the coffee machines is a detailed but clear handwritten guide on how to use said machines, complete with illustrations. There are also cute little doodles of Spring Dorm residents using the machines and drinking coffee, though they look as though they were done by someone else.

[On the table is a stack of origami paper and a how-to book on the craft. Additionally, there are other arts & crafts supplies, the majority of them Halloween-coloured, though none of them can be removed from the dorm.

A handwritten note has also been left nearby.

Given that there were apparently issues with last week's snacks, I assumed no one wanted the risk of a repeat with treats.

If you're actually interested in Halloween decorations or pumpkin carving or any of those things, put in a request.

There are also a few bottles of alcohol (from the SUB, so nothing fancy. how did Chad get these when he's underage? who knows), with another note.

Don't make me regret this. However, I realize that last week wasn't great. Have someone with you if you haven't drunk before.

[Molly is just in the common room, making origami bats (I guess the how-to book has good picture instructions) and drinking something out of his custom mug. There's a suspicious open bottle of whiskey nearby. It's most definitely too early in the day for this.

Still if you come nearby to sit down, he'll offer out the bottle if you've got a cup? Join.]

Suppose a lot of you need supervision with this stuff? What do I know, I'm not your mother. Here.

So Halloween is some sort of holiday?

I'd say most of this dorm does, but I think we know where not to expect responsibility here.

What I can't figure out is what the ghosts and the pumpkins have to do with one another. Is there something we're missing? Are gourds normally haunted?

[RANDY YOUR DAY-DRINKING. He doesn't judge though because daydrinking as a concept probably doesn't exist in the 1600s, where no one has anything better to do than drink at 7am.

He will lean in to get a look at the little bat, though! It's kind of cute... And now that he's looking at it properly he can indeed tell it's a bat, even though that is a weird as hell choice for origami for a ye olde.]

My. With such craftsmanship, I believe it. [Said with a little hint of understanding amusement... Look he's modest but he's also an otome route. Anyway, with a gesture:] Would you like me to show you some other animals?

[Sometimes you just decide to thumbs up the purple lad drinking too early in the day. But!! He'll lean over to grab a piece of paper too, turning to face Molly properly so he can see the folding clearly as he goes.]
