It's a little hard to wake up when the melody that drifts into your ears is so comforting that it'd be so much simpler to stay asleep. Maybe everything that you remember last - the cold seeping into your fingertips, the pain of injury, or the darkness creeping into your vision - will just be parts of a bad dream.
But it's not.
When you wake up, it's probably a little disorienting - you have to push off a blanket and rise from this nice comfortable mat on the floor. Seems like you were all curled up for nap time. Literally. The room that you're in has furniture meant for small humans, children as some might call them, and everything is soft and plush to the touch with rounded corners. Blocks with the alphabet etched onto them, coloring books and crayons, and even a rocking horse dot the room to really give it that childish charm. If you can think of a child-safe toy, it's probably in one of the baskets that line the shelves of the room!
Around the room they'll find baby monitors that broadcast the antics of the living. Hopefully that doesn't feel creepy.
There is a yard outside through the glass doors, but it currently seems to be locked - and the glass won't break no matter how hard you try. There's a large pink door that feels enormous, ten times as tall as you, on one side of the room, but there's no way through that either. At the very top, you might see a directory sign that says: TO ADMINISTRATION BUILDING.
Huh.
Well... for now, get comfortable. It looks like you might be here a while.

No just kidding. In actuality, he jerks in surprise, one hand automatically darting up to sort of hover over the flower. He looks like this. "Pixi just make an icon" no he's more blatantly bullyable when it's full-size.
And then he just sort of sits awkwardly for a minute because he sucks at socialization and has no idea how to react to this.
Eventually, very stiffly, because Molly is clearly not himself right now and this is a... gift... or something--]
...Thank you.

--Lan Wangji's not a terribly expressive person (unless he's being stupid and flustered, anyway), but for once, it's obvious from his face that he wasn't expecting to be given anything. He hesitates for a moment, then very carefully sets the guqin beside him, so that he doesn't have to awkwardly lean over it to accept the letter. What is this. Who gave this toddler a letter he can't even read!!!]

Anyway it says
If you are reading this and you do not already know, your name is Mollymauk Tealeaf. You have friends, the Mighty Nein, who want very much to see you again. Please leave a message for us with the Evening Nip Tavern in Zadash, and mention the Mighty Nein. Someone there will know how to contact us, so we can find you.
If someone else has happened to come upon this letter and our tiefling friend in any state where he cannot contact us himself, I kindly ask that you give him safe lodging until you are able to make contact with us. We have the means and will gladly compensate you for your trouble. We would be very grateful if you would ensure his well-being.
Sincerely yours,
The Mighty Nein
(and in newer script, down below)
Third time's the charm. We'll bring you home.
Thank you for letting us meet you again.

But Lan Wangji just reads it through, the confusion on his face fading into focus, and then back to his usual calm expression. He's quiet for a moment, before he lowers the letter and folds it back up, very carefully.]
...May I keep this safe for you?
[Normally, he wouldn't ask something like that. But Molly has a lot more stuff than he does, for one thing. And he's also kind of... scattered, right now. Something as precious as this... it shouldn't be at risk of getting lost, or thrown away. When, if, Molly comes back to himself a bit more, then Lan Wangji will be happy to give it back to him. Otherwise, he can give it to Caleb or Beau, should they ar--when they all reunite.
Of course, if Molly wants it back, that's fine too. He'll just keep an extra eye on it from afar. They don't exactly have much space here.]

Empty.
[So that seems about as much a sure why not as anything else.]

He makes an aborted movement, then--like he's stopped himself from reaching out to prevent his guqin from being touched. Lan Wangji watches him for a moment, thoughtful. Then, he reaches for the instrument himself, plucking a separate string.]
"Empty." [Playing it again.] "Empty."
[A shift of his hand, before he plays three different notes.] "Lan Wangji."
[Qin language isn't really meant for this, but you know what, technically they're all kind of dead, so. He isn't breaking any rules.]

Lan Wangji.
[There's a bit of certainty in that statement that isn't so much in the empties.]

"Flower." [Another pause, glancing around, before he settles on Lila, wherever she is--and he's too polite to point at her, but he does nod in her direction. A shift of his hands, and a few more notes.]
"Lila."
[He thinks it's probably clear enough that this is a form of communication, but still, it can't hurt to make it clear.
He withdraws his hands, then, resting his wrists on the edge of the guqin and tilting his head slightly in a "Your turn?" sort of gesture.]
