It's a little hard to wake up when the melody that drifts into your ears is so comforting that it'd be so much simpler to stay asleep. Maybe everything that you remember last - the cold seeping into your fingertips, the pain of injury, or the darkness creeping into your vision - will just be parts of a bad dream.

But it's not.

When you wake up, it's probably a little disorienting - you have to push off a blanket and rise from this nice comfortable mat on the floor. Seems like you were all curled up for nap time. Literally. The room that you're in has furniture meant for small humans, children as some might call them, and everything is soft and plush to the touch with rounded corners. Blocks with the alphabet etched onto them, coloring books and crayons, and even a rocking horse dot the room to really give it that childish charm. If you can think of a child-safe toy, it's probably in one of the baskets that line the shelves of the room!

Around the room they'll find baby monitors that broadcast the antics of the living. Hopefully that doesn't feel creepy.

There is a yard outside through the glass doors, but it currently seems to be locked - and the glass won't break no matter how hard you try. There's a large pink door that feels enormous, ten times as tall as you, on one side of the room, but there's no way through that either. At the very top, you might see a directory sign that says: TO ADMINISTRATION BUILDING.

Huh.

Well... for now, get comfortable. It looks like you might be here a while.

Hey! [ HEAD SNAPPING UP. ] Friendships can happen on a whim, you know? My partner, s'not like I knew him for long either before we hit it off!

Yeah. [ He's getting up, dusting both hiimself off and the carrot (gingerly). Still holding it as he looks back at Bradley. ]

His name's Risu. I met him at school. We're best friends.

[battling]

[He's not eating that carrot. He will die a second time before he eats that carrot. You cannot make him eat a carrot.]

Yeah? It's good t' have people like that.

[ Pleeeaaaase Bradley please. ]

Yeah.

[ There's an emotional sensation. It's partway fondness, but a lot of something else -- it's really hard to pick through. A sensation akin to a black hole, enveloping darkness made into emotion. ]

[If your name was Nero Turner he might think about it, but no he will not eat a carrot for Aikawa.

[He'll eat a vegetable if it's disguised in other foods, but that is not possible here.

The affection and devotion are even stronger now.]

He's the best. The best chef there's ever been. Food from him is just as good as any medicine. Nero's shy, gloomy, stubborn, and real anxious. Really kind, even if he's easily pissed off. If he's got yer back, you know you never gotta worry. Nero's most dependable person I know.

[headsplitter]

Food, huh? [ Visually, outwardly? He perks up! That sounds great! And emotionally there's an interest there too. But God, it comes with such a torrent of muffled division and pain. ] Heh, you're not really giving him good traits to describe him by...

[ Shy, gloomy, stubborn, and anxious. Jeez. ]

Nero's a chef. I love him just the way he is.
