SPRINGLE - WEEK 2

common room.

In the common room, the walls have been painted with photo-like pictures of forests and lakes, and spread across the ceiling is a depiction of the night sky. One wall is lined with bookcases, the books ranging from fiction to non-fiction as well used course textbooks. More bookcases have been used to section off one corner for a study area, with a desk and chair provided.

Elsewhere, there are a few couches (one looks as though it doesn't quite belong) and chairs, most seated around a coffee table and with throw blankets tossed over them if you need the extra warmth. On the table is a bowl of healthy and semi-healthy snacks, regularly stocked. (Nearby is a garbage can.)

This week, there is something else on the table.

specialty room.

Past an entrance in the common room, a mini coffeehouse has been set up, with express machines for those who just want their coffee now and slightly more advanced equipment for aficionados. It offers a variety of strength levels and flavors to accommodate tastes all across the spectrum, along with a teapot and packets of caffeinated and non-caffeinated tea for those who prefer a different drink. There's a sink if you want to use your own mug, but otherwise, disposable cups are provided for you to use.

Pasted on the wall by the coffee machines is a detailed but clear handwritten guide on how to use said machines, complete with illustrations. There are also cute little doodles of Spring Dorm residents using the machines and drinking coffee, though they look as though they were done by someone else.

Please use this as an open post for members of Spring Dorm. You may post top-levels whenever you'd like and go wild. A new post will go up at the start of each week.

The moon is a giant goose egg? Aren't goose eggs ovate?

Is that the part we're focusing on now?

I'm just trying to make sense of it. Either it's a riddle, or the author has never seen a goose egg before.

[personal profile] headmt 2021-06-22 12:17 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe we're just seeing it from the bottom?
ercnerd: (01)

[personal profile] ercnerd 2021-06-22 12:22 am (UTC)(link)
How true do you suppose that is?
headmt: (90.)

[personal profile] headmt 2021-06-22 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
Not any weirder than some of the other theories I've heard about Ruidus.
ercnerd: (01)

[personal profile] ercnerd 2021-06-22 12:34 am (UTC)(link)
What's Ruidus?
headmt: (105.)

[personal profile] headmt 2021-06-22 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
Um, the second moon?

[It's just what it's called.]
ercnerd: (11)

[personal profile] ercnerd 2021-06-22 01:45 am (UTC)(link)
What could be weirder than a goose's egg . . . ?

[personal profile] shaft 2021-06-22 01:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Isn't goose egg slang for "nothing"? Is this an attack on the moon?
ercnerd: (11)

[personal profile] ercnerd 2021-06-22 05:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Why would anyone go through the trouble of insulting the moon nine times over?

This is a mysterious an unfathomable school...
ercnerd: (11)

[personal profile] ercnerd 2021-06-23 06:48 am (UTC)(link)
No, I think it's also the people in it . . .

[personal profile] shaft 2021-06-23 11:47 am (UTC)(link)
Has anyone just asked Chad?
ercnerd: (02)

[personal profile] ercnerd 2021-06-24 05:05 am (UTC)(link)
Good idea. You should ask him!
shaft: (war ยป a57)

[personal profile] shaft 2021-06-24 12:10 pm (UTC)(link)
[ a couple of texts later, ]

It has nothing to do with him.
ercnerd: (01)

[personal profile] ercnerd 2021-06-24 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
So much for that.

Someone from this dorm had to have been in on it, though, right?

[personal profile] shaft 2021-06-24 11:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe it's nothing. Maybe it's a pointless ruse to make us lose our minds.
ercnerd: (03)

[personal profile] ercnerd 2021-06-25 05:51 am (UTC)(link)
I wouldn't call that nothing . . . but you're right. Dwelling on it is pointless. If it becomes relevant later for some reason, we'll revisit it then.
