FALL COMMON ROOM - WEEK 2

common room.

The common room of the Fall Dorm has soft, dimmer lighting; plush carpet over wood; and several comfortable chairs and sectionals. A few big windows overlook the dormitory area of campus, but there is also a single, cozy bay window on one side.

A television and bluetooth surround-sound are here for Fall students who are more inclined to be tech savvy. In the cabinets under the entertainment stand are an assortment of board games, but the television does have a generic "free tv" app for shows and music.

Above the enormous center fireplace is a moody painting.

This week, there's something else.

specialty room.

Through a door on the first floor, there is an antigravity room. Stepping just a few feet through the doorway will lift everyone up into the air. The seating and most of the rest of the room remains somehow rightfully in place on the floor and will not move. Students, however, can grab pillows and blankets, cups or bowls, or other small items to bring into the air with them.

Yeah. You can ask for any kind you want. You probably won't be allowed at the Winter Formal in something ruined.

Do we need t' dress up for those things? School uniforms fine or what?

School uniforms are okay, I guess. A lot of people use the opportunity to dress up, especially the girls.

Kinda hard for 'em without any shops on campus.

The school will probably give you guys a way to pick something you want.

Ya plannin' on going?

Uh... I'll probably have to be there as a chaperone. So... technically, yeah?

[ What he doesn't say: but you're a baby. ]

Ah well, try t' have some fun, even with the responsibility 'n all.

[A gentle fist tap to Luke's shoulder.]

Most jobs are headaches.

[He sort of flaps an elbow like he's playfully swatting at the tap, but not really.]

[He laughs, claps his hand on Luke's shoulder and then takes it back.]

Fair enough! One of mine's a huge fuckin' pain.

[He jostles a bit with the clap just because it was unexpected.]

"Babysitting adults". Owen loves to provoke people, and Mithra's probably never had a thought in his life.

[Wow, the people in his dorm really are here for a particular reason.]

Headaches then. I get it.
