FALL COMMON ROOM - WEEK 2

common room.
The common room of the Fall Dorm has soft, dimmer lighting; plush carpet over wood; and several comfortable chairs and sectionals. A few big windows overlook the dormitory area of campus, but there is also a single, cozy bay window on one side.
A television and bluetooth surround-sound are here for Fall students who are more inclined to be tech savvy. In the cabinets under the entertainment stand are an assortment of board games, but the television does have a generic "free tv" app for shows and music.
Above the enormous center fireplace is a moody painting.
This week, there's something else.
specialty room.
Through a door on the first floor, there is an antigravity room. Stepping just a few feet through the doorway will lift everyone up into the air. The seating and most of the rest of the room remains somehow rightfully in place on the floor and will not move. Students, however, can grab pillows and blankets, cups or bowls, or other small items to bring into the air with them.
Please use this as an open post for members of Fall Dorm. You may post top-levels whenever you'd like and go wild. A new post will go up at the start of each week.

[ hold up ]
—Wait, he what? Why?
no subject
Dunno. You'd have to ask Bradley or Nier, I didn't ask for details but it sounded like it was to distract Nier from something? Kind of a weird way to do it though.

but then he looks down at his leggy
and promptly shuts the fuck up again. ]

At least the moat was beneath you? [not that helpful, but.]

...next time you have to do something like that, ask us. Alright?

[ :T he has been lectured enough... ]
no subject
Of course he did.
[said like someone who has been on the receiving end of a yamato lecture more than once.]
Then consider that the end of my scolding or whatever.
no subject
What, he does it to you, too?
no subject
[but he's only mildly annoyed. sometimes...you're also used to this.]
no subject
[ yes that is clearly the reason ]
no subject
Yeah, probably.
[it's fine, hope is just little-brother-shaped and taichi's not stupid enough to recognize that's what happened there.]
no subject
[ make a fucking friend you loser ]
no subject
You've got some friends waiting for you back home, don't you? People you're traveling with?
[he uses the word traveling lightly given what hope's told him.]
no subject
I...don't know if I would call them friends. They're all older than me, for one, like...actual adults, so it feels kind of weird to just assume that. If anything, to them, I'm...just a kid who was at the wrong place at the wrong time.
no subject
With adults it's a little harder, but I think adults who don't really want anything to do with you wouldn't let you stick around as long as you have.
[and then, more importantly:] Are you at least making friends here?
no subject
[ stop, his insecurities... but at taichi's next question, he glances back toward the other boy with a curious sort of look in his eyes. ]
...I don't know, wouldn't you be able to answer that better than me?
no subject
[but then he grins slightly.]
I told Lalli this, but I think it also depends on when you decide someone is considered a friend. We're friends though, aren't we? And the rest of the dorm?
