FALL COMMON ROOM - WEEK 2

common room.
The common room of the Fall Dorm has soft, dimmer lighting; plush carpet over wood; and several comfortable chairs and sectionals. A few big windows overlook the dormitory area of campus, but there is also a single, cozy bay window on one side.
A television and bluetooth surround-sound are here for Fall students who are more inclined to be tech savvy. In the cabinets under the entertainment stand are an assortment of board games, but the television does have a generic "free tv" app for shows and music.
Above the enormous center fireplace is a moody painting.
This week, there's something else.
specialty room.
Through a door on the first floor, there is an antigravity room. Stepping just a few feet through the doorway will lift everyone up into the air. The seating and most of the rest of the room remains somehow rightfully in place on the floor and will not move. Students, however, can grab pillows and blankets, cups or bowls, or other small items to bring into the air with them.
Please use this as an open post for members of Fall Dorm. You may post top-levels whenever you'd like and go wild. A new post will go up at the start of each week.

Your hotel? You run business?

[the stupid fancy name...]
It's a hotel for ghosts. They stay there and get all their affairs in order before taking a bus to the afterlife. Sometimes a limousine, if they can afford it.
[extortion,,,,]

Like a chance to set things right before you're gone for good?
no subject
That's right. [she hms] For example... I had a guest who died before she could get married. Her parents wanted to ease her regrets, so they paid for a wedding ceremony at my hotel. They asked us to find a nice ghost for her to marry.

That's, uh. [ FUCKING WEIRD. ] ...Nice, I think.
You can't talk to the guys that die here though, huh.
no subject
I can't, unfortunately. Then again, we're still not sure if they're really dead, right?
no subject
I guess so. It's just...
[ With every death, a feeling of dread grows. Like something's on the line, a weird feeling of deja vu. Caiman stares off into the boundaries of the school that don't seem to end, just an expanse of some fantasy.
But he can't grasp it. ]
...

...I don't know how you're feeling, and the others may not understand either, but... We're all here, Caiman. We're in this situation, same as you.
[so... he can talk to them, she's sure Caleb or Yamato or Luxanna would be more understanding. Ichinose too, with her easy cheerful candor.
Manwol hasn't talked to anyone out of non-selfish motives for such a long time.]
no subject
Yeah, I know... [ With a big ol' sigh. ] It's just been getting kinda...
...And it's one of us this time.
no subject
[but Manwol understands, and she sympathizes too.]
I asked Bradley once how he'd feel if he got killed, and he said that he wouldn't care about justice or catching his murderer. [...] So if anything, we should find who it is and show him that we care, regardless.
[bradley has lost his rights for getting deda]
no subject
Peh... dumbass.
...He had a partner waiting for him.

[to have someone he cares for, and who cares about them.
pensive,]
Maybe they'll never know. If time is supposedly stopped, then they could never realize that he's gone.
