FALL COMMON ROOM - WEEK 3
common room.
The common room of the Fall Dorm has soft, dimmer lighting; plush carpet over wood; and several comfortable chairs and sectionals. A few big windows overlook the dormitory area of campus, but there is also a single, cozy bay window on one side.
A television and bluetooth surround-sound are here for Fall students who are more inclined to be tech savvy. In the cabinets under the entertainment stand are an assortment of board games, but the television does have a generic "free tv" app for shows and music.
Above the enormous center fireplace is a moody painting.
This week, there's something else.
specialty room.
Through a door on the first floor, there is an antigravity room. Stepping just a few feet through the doorway will lift everyone up into the air. The seating and most of the rest of the room remains somehow rightfully in place on the floor and will not move. Students, however, can grab pillows and blankets, cups or bowls, or other small items to bring into the air with them.

I just want to know how much of you can change... and can't change. I got all those serial killer memories on Thursday, but it's not like I was that different in them. It's interesting.

I can't compare them because they're both different. There were good and bad things in both. But that one wasn't mine. I have my own history. I don't need a fake one.

I talked to him about it. I should have done more. He said he was having terrible nightmares. He wanted to buy a mask from his dreams because he thought it was important.
I asked him if he ever wondered if they were memories, and he said they felt familiar. I didn't know why someone who seemed so happy as he was could be so desperate to figure out his past.

Manwol's quiet at that. For once, not encouraged to do something gremlin-ish. She's thinking back on her conversation with Caiman, their big, stupid lizard.
"Maybe I should have listened to Luke."
She looks away, and sighs.]
Are you saying that you wouldn't do the same?

I was already doing the same thing here. I would have kept being Luke if not for the times I broke through, or the times I realized something wasn't right.

Caiman was afraid. That kept him back, otherwise...
[Otherwise he would have managed, maybe. To remember like Luke, to become the person he really was, or remember just enough to get to choose between the two.
Manwol's quiet, then without any real anger in her voice.]
