FALL COMMON ROOM - WEEK 3

The common room of the Fall Dorm has soft, dimmer lighting; plush carpet over wood; and several comfortable chairs and sectionals. A few big windows overlook the dormitory area of campus, but there is also a single, cozy bay window on one side.

A television and bluetooth surround-sound are here for Fall students who are more inclined to be tech savvy. In the cabinets under the entertainment stand are an assortment of board games, but the television does have a generic "free tv" app for shows and music.

Above the enormous center fireplace is a moody painting.

This week, there's something else.

specialty room.

Through a door on the first floor, there is an antigravity room. Stepping just a few feet through the doorway will lift everyone up into the air. The seating and most of the rest of the room remains somehow rightfully in place on the floor and will not move. Students, however, can grab pillows and blankets, cups or bowls, or other small items to bring into the air with them.

One night after we finished the raft, our island was attacked by Heartless. We had made it to visit other worlds.

I thought... it was our only chance. If we wanted to see other worlds, we had to go into the darkness then. We got separated.

[Who was sipping dumb bitch juice? This guy.]

... Is that how you got...?

[ possessed the first time. yamato would share his own dumb bitch juice story but they're in public and taichi does not know he took advice from a tree ]

[Both brows raise for a moment until he realizes what Yamato means.

And then he frowns some.]

No. That was later. When... I was angry about Sora winning and taking back the keyblade. I opened my heart to the darkness, and Ansem got in.

[ghoststrums]

[ opened his heart to darkness, huh. ]

... Were you jealous? Of Sora.

[ "i was angry about sora winning and taking back the keyblade" doesn't entirely mean something to him, but. ]

[He seems reluctant to say anything at first, looking somewhat... shamefully guilty. And then he sighs.]

Yeah. I was always a little jealous of Sora. How he was able to... be himself. No matter what ever happened, he could just... always follow his heart.

[ghoststrums]

[ he could explain himself properly, but again they're in public and this is stuff taichi technically doesn't know, but instead yamato kind of covers his face with a weak laugh instead GET THIS SAME HAT THE FUCK AWAY FROM HIM ]

... You're right. Maybe we should be a little less alike.

[darksubverted]

[VERY FUNNY. He won't glance in Taichi's direction and give Yamato away.]

You too, huh? I told you.

[ghoststrums]

Yeah, well. I still think you're the one copying me.

[ he's older AND he did it younger so clearly ]

[darksubverted]

[He makes a kind of soft tch noise with his tongue.]

You got put in my dorm, so I think you're copying me.

[ghoststrums]

I'm not switching dorms to prove you wrong, so I guess we're at an impasse.

[darksubverted]

We'll just have to agree to disagree.

And maybe accept we're a lot alike even if it might not be a good thing. Maybe it means our hearts can hear each other better than you think.

[ghoststrums]

You're getting sappier by the day. [ is what he settles on instead of saying that he doesn't mean being similar to riku ]

[He makes a bit of a face.]

Sora's definitely the sap, not me.

... If that's the case, then he's definitely rubbed off on you.

Likewise. I think someone we both know has rubbed off on you, too.

[ghoststrums]

Impossible. You don't know Gabumon at all.

[darksubverted]

[He gets the joke, but...]

I wouldn't mind. Getting to know Gabumon if I could.

[ghoststrums]

[ ... he smiles a little ]

He'd like getting to know you, too. [ he sounds very sure of that. ]

[darksubverted]

...Because we're so alike?

[ghoststrums]

Mm, no. Because he likes getting to know my friends.

[darksubverted]

[A faint smile touches the edge of his lips.]

Once we fix this then. I have to get back to Sora. I can't leave him alone in the darkness.

But... if we're able... I'll meet him. Gabumon. I'd like to see what kind of friends you keep besides Taichi.

[ghoststrums]

You'll get out. Both of you. And then you can meet them. [ there's a beat ] Most of them aren't nearly as obnoxious, promise.

[darksubverted]

[He really wants to know how Yamato can be so optimistic about the getting out part... (Very Sora.) but he also realizes he's the one who has shouldered the weight of being in those moments... of being lost essentially.

So he doesn't hold it against Yamato.]

It's okay. I've had a lot of practice with obnoxious.

[ghoststrums]

[ because the pessimist option would literally kill him at this point. and, because yamato has to; ]

[He is going to punch Taichi AND Yamato with his fists.
