The common room of the Fall Dorm has soft, dimmer lighting; plush carpet over wood; and several comfortable chairs and sectionals. A few big windows overlook the dormitory area of campus, but there is also a single, cozy bay window on one side.

A television and bluetooth surround-sound are here for Fall students who are more inclined to be tech savvy. In the cabinets under the entertainment stand are an assortment of board games, but the television does have a generic "free tv" app for shows and music.

Above the enormous center fireplace is a moody painting.

This week, there's something else.

specialty room.

Through a door on the first floor, there is an antigravity room. Stepping just a few feet through the doorway will lift everyone up into the air. The seating and most of the rest of the room remains somehow rightfully in place on the floor and will not move. Students, however, can grab pillows and blankets, cups or bowls, or other small items to bring into the air with them.

Worked, didn't it? [it's a lazy kind of tone, but yamato can get a sense of what his actual emotions are right now since they're sitting close enough. he's also grabbing his hand to get him to stop picking at his nails under the guise of getting a closer look.]

What's with the manicure?

Manwol didn't like mine and redid it at the picnic. [ mock sulking a bit, because wow, it's hard to paint nails with one eye ok. except now he can't pick his nails his leg is just bouncing a bit ]

Sounds like a Manwol thing to do. [he says, as he leans to put his elbow on yamato's thigh to make his leg stop bouncing. while still holding his hand to look at his nails.]

It's not like they need to look good. I just wanted to try it out.

[ he is just vibrating with unspent anxiety energy now thanks ]

Sure. [there's a pause...and then he moves to whisper in yamato's ear for a second.]

[ ... he lets out a long sigh before he kind of just droops to fully lean on taichi ]

Yeah. Sorry.

[you know. that's fine. yamato can lean and taichi's shifting to make them both more comfortable. so like. he stops leaning on yamato's leg and lets go of his hand, but he does drape an arm around his shoulders.]

Mm. [which is sort of like "it's fine" but saying that is just another thing so...acknowledgement. he's worried, too, because this is five weeks of this shit and when is enough gonna be enough?]

[ oh goodbye handholding :( it was nice while it lasted ]

... I miss Frumpkin.

[ their curfew comfort cat. ]

[there is an arm around yamato's shoulder and his hand is kind of draping over him. he can take the hand if he wants??? ]

Yeah, you and me both. At least Lalli has Kissa.

[ no what if it's the broken wrist one ]

... Yeah. [ ... ] Let's steal a barn cat next week.

[I WAS GOING TO SAY ITS NOT BUT HE'S SITTING ON THE NON-BLIND SIDE SO IT IS? but he's still letting his hand dangle anyway.]

Think it'd stay? We could definitely use another pet for nights like these.

We could bribe it. Make it fish.

I'm already making fish for Frumpkin, I guess.

[ and kissa, but no one needs to know he's also spoiling lalli's cat for free ]

If we have enough to spare, we might as well. It would be really rude to bring back a cat and not offer them dinner.

[ taichi. ]

Yup. Completely.

[...he's close enough that he can, unfortunately, feel the cacophony of taichi's emotions which is actually a big mess that he doesn't ever actually share with yamato. he's too busy just joking with him though.]

You wouldn't invite a guest and not offer them something to eat or drink, would you?

[ yamato's own emotions are, unsurprisingly, always a mess, but now there's just the vague concern in there for taichi as he leans on him a little more ]

Since when are you polite enough to offer guests anything?

[yamato leans and taichi's arm tightens around his shoulders a little. not enough to hurt his injured shoulder though, hand resting against him.]

I'm a cat person. Aren't you the one who just said that?

So it's not because it's a guest, it's because it's a cat.

[ it's fine yamato's careful not to lean too hard on taichi's entire injured body. ]
