FALL COMMON ROOM - WEEK 5

The common room of the Fall Dorm has soft, dimmer lighting; plush carpet over wood; and several comfortable chairs and sectionals. A few big windows overlook the dormitory area of campus, but there is also a single, cozy bay window on one side.

A television and bluetooth surround-sound are here for Fall students who are more inclined to be tech savvy. In the cabinets under the entertainment stand are an assortment of board games, but the television does have a generic "free tv" app for shows and music.

Above the enormous center fireplace is a moody painting.

This week, there's something else.

specialty room.

Through a door on the first floor, there is an antigravity room. Stepping just a few feet through the doorway will lift everyone up into the air. The seating and most of the rest of the room remains somehow rightfully in place on the floor and will not move. Students, however, can grab pillows and blankets, cups or bowls, or other small items to bring into the air with them.

Our newest information sounds more like a threat. It's a memo page, and there's red writing on it. It talks about how the story wants to know who and what it's meant to be. And that if we want to be heroes so badly, we should wait for the villains to show up, and see if we'll still be able to strike them down. That evil needs a "face".

It was signed "who am I".

[ there's a beat, and-- ]

And Riku was Luke, when I went to see him. I snapped him out of it, but...

[ :( ]

Riku was...? That's alarming.

[ lux sighs. ]

Whoever is so insistent on writing this story has not read enough for themselves. Plenty of stories do not requires villains at all.

[ghoststrums]

I don't think they care so much about good writing.

No, clearly not...

I expect nothing more than a cheap twist.

... Yeah. Like it being the Dorm Heads.

...what kind of hero just sits around and waits for the villains to show up? If they want a fight, they should come out and face us already.

They need a face first. I think-- between that and Riku, I'm pretty sure it's going to be the Dorm Heads.

Some of us were speculating that much on Thursday. Especially since the story already had a hold on them. So...so what, we might actually have to take them down ourselves?

[wow. wonder why he's not thrilled with that idea!]

It's what it wants us to do. That doesn't mean it's what we're going to.

Is there any way we can prevent it?

What if we put our vouchers together for a protective charm?

... I don't know that there's any kind of charm that can protect against that, but we're not losing anything by trying.

I don't like waiting. We don't even know how long it wants us to wait. But we can't do anything until we have a villain to fight anyway.

... We can't even prepare ourselves properly, because we don't know what kind of fight it wants, or even means.

I can fight, if we need to fight. I'll need a weapon, but fighting is something I can do.

So...now we're not just seeing stuff they were writing when they were setting this place up, we're seeing actual stuff they're writing to us.

I wonder if spending more of our coupons will help them like the last time around. Though we don't know the full extent of this thing's power yet...
