It's even darker now, with the lights in the buildings all mostly turned off as people slumber. The street lights are the only thing illuminating the path... almost a little eerily, since even other lights you'd normally expect to remain on in a city are switched off.
It starts to rain. It's light enough that they won't get soaked immediately, but they'll still be pretty wet before they reach whatever destination they're going to. In the distance, there is one apartment complex that still has lights on. ]
[ well. here they go. two very injured people and their also injured dog, hobbling sadly through the rain in the night to their apartment. it looks and feels very pitiful. ]

he squints, a little, and carefully nudges his hood up and back on top of his head as it begins to rain. terrible. if this is the only problem though, he’ll take it. at least none of his injuries are blatantly exposed now. ]
Think we’re supposed to follow the lights, yeah. Stay close, okay? [ he’s on as high alert as someone in his current situation can be, looking around warily and keeping his hand on his mic tight. ] ...‘s way too quiet.
Miku makes a whining noise, and he looks around. It's quiet enough that they can hear the far off sound of a truck engine turning on, but don't worry about that, it's not in their immediate vicinity.
They continue to move closer to the building. It remains brightly lit. ]

anyway, Mabel has her guard up as anyone would after this hell adventure they've been on, but she's definitely more relaxed, feeling more like they're coming to a resting point. I, Lisa, however, am very paranoid about this truck engine now! hmmm.
Anyway I'm gonna say they're getting right up to the building's entrance now. Anything curious that's visible in there from the outside as they approach? ]
They'll also hear the truck again, and if they turn around, they'll see that it's right behind them. How did it get there without either of them noticing? It's a mystery.
ichiro also jumps about half a foot - his protective instincts kick in, he grabs mabel around the stomach and pushes into a tuck and roll to keep from getting hit?!
is there any alleyway or anything?! windows? ] Hey, it's our apartment, how the fuck do I get in?! Mabel, get your hook ready!
[ oh he absolutely just reopened like every wound he has but that's fine. wheeze. ichiro leans against the door and lets mabel do the yelling this time. ]
[ Mabel wrenches the door open wide so she, Miku, and Ichiro can all pile in, before slamming it shut behind her. She has no idea who opened it, or if they're even just inside the entrance, but ]

Besides the stairwell, there's an elevator, and a long hallway that has apartments on either side of it. There's also mailboxes next to them. Where do they go. ]
