The common room of the Fall Dorm has soft, dimmer lighting; plush carpet over wood; and several comfortable chairs and sectionals. A few big windows overlook the dormitory area of campus, but there is also a single, cozy bay window on one side.

A television and bluetooth surround-sound are here for Fall students who are more inclined to be tech savvy. In the cabinets under the entertainment stand are an assortment of board games, but the television does have a generic "free tv" app for shows and music.

Above the enormous center fireplace is a moody painting.

On one of the tables is a welcome basket.

Through a door on the first floor, there is an antigravity room. Stepping just a few feet through the doorway will lift everyone up into the air. The seating and most of the rest of the room remains somehow rightfully in place on the floor and will not move. Students, however, can grab pillows and blankets, cups or bowls, or other small items to bring into the air with them.

[Okay. He quietly composes an email, and then after a moment puts his phone away. Going around methodologically, checking the doors and each window one after another all throughout the dorm. Then walks back, sits down, and sets his cat on the ground. Frumpkin will sort of wander around, taking a moment to sit in people's laps or ask for pets from anyone in the room.]

. . . Ah, well. Whatever you think is best is fine with me.

They have provided us with several games! Though I'm unfamiliar with them.

I don't know them either, but we are smart people, surely we can work it out.

You look like you'd be really good at spying. Hey, how good is Frumpkin at things like sabotage?

There's. Such a long pause at this while he tries to figure out what she's talking about and how to respond.]

Uhm. Frumpkin? Not so much at sabotage, but he is a pretty good little scout.

Scouting works. He's so cute... All he has to do is look at someone with those big eyes and they'll take him right into their dorms.

Being cute is one of his main skills.

[No comment on the dorms.]

. . . He, uhm. When we aren't here, I can change his form into other animals, communicate with him telepathically, see through his eyes, and summon him back to me. So he often goes ahead to get a look at someplace first, before we go in. And then I can bring him right back if there's any trouble.

Stop. [(regina voice) shut up] That would have made him perfect then!

[wow they could have won in an alternate universe,]

If I figure out a way to get powers back, then I'm definitely telling the both of you first.

Perfect for. . . ?

Spying on our competition. [in a very 'of course' voice.] Or figuring out where the principal is, I guess.

Ah. Ja, he'd be good at that. The principal part. The spying on other dorms is easy enough without him.

[That's why Caleb isn't telling him! He seems like a real cat, at least. And if he picks off something 'off,' he doesn't show it, just rubbing up against his hand.]
